Got some new photos here!
First up is Rusty...my bad eater.

Then we have Tanzy, my used to eat, but now on strike, girl. If you look very closely, you can see at the end of her nose, on her bottom jaw, where she has an indent from smacking her face against her terrarium and bending the bottom jaw backwards. I did some helpful, though unwanted, tinkering with it for her and got it to mostly straighten out. She's doing fine now, though i'm still waiting for both of them to eat!

They're so pretty! I wish I could have seen mine growing up. I adopted/rescued mine a few months ago and they're almost full grown. One still has alot of the light pinkish tint to her and the other is super dark.

I love the patterns on these guys.. I need to get my hands on a full grown male to see how I would feel about owning one. I have never seen one larger than 400 grams. lol

That's funny because I haven't seen an adult Dumeril's either. I love the ones I have seen though. I've been tempted a few times...

Great looking snakes Jaleely!

Gorgeous, Mel!

Where do you live that you can go outdoors already? I can't wait for warmer weather here

Nice looking Dums, love the peachy tint. I also love how the pattern is the same over the eyes; great for camoulflage. Judging from their size are they yearlings? Maybe '10s? Just wondering.

Alissa the weather has been crazy here actually. If you notice my arm is in a sweater there...it was so windy! The snakes were flicking out tongues like mad. Next day it rained, then it was sunny and nice...whatever! That's why i have so much trouble with my dums and getting them on a proper feeding schedule. They seem to be the most sensitive to seasons and weather changes. I can't wait until i can own a house some day with good weather stripping installed!

As to their age, i don't know. I think the male is about a year old now, and the female a bit older. Later I will take some measurements and weights for them. Tanzy did grow after we got her, but then she went on food strike.

Well dums get about 2 feet longer than ball pythons. So I think Tanzy will maybe reach 8 one day, and Rusty 6. I just measured him, and he's 18 inches! I've had him since August 6th, 2011 and he hasn't noticeably grown, but he hasn't eaten either!

What state are you in though? I know several Ventura cities :hmm:

California! 3 Miles from the beach! Below Santa Barbara, above L.A. It's supposedly 70 degrees year round here, but it seems to always be a little on the cold side, and a little humid in summer. I actually *really* hate the weather here. I know the dums seem to, too!

I've only been to California once (to Laguna Beach, OC actually), and not quite for touring/fun, but I LOVED it. I desperately want to see more of CA

California is SO big, that when you say you want to see California, it's like, saying seeing Canada or something! Truly, far north is dry, and weedy, lower is the Sierras and the big trees redwood forest, then lower is wine country, then beach country, and off to the side, the desert! I've been all over it, and I love the wooded tree area the best. I've also lived in Washington state, and Oregon (Eastern...which is high desert, pine trees and sagebrush, where west is trees and green and rain...same for washington) Besides the trees....Northern Washington (up where Forks is, from Twilight) is an actual rainforest, that butts up to the beach. Beeeeautiful.

males can reach 6 foot females could go past 8 foot but you want see any growth there reqally slow growers take like 5 years to get full length I think exwizard female blackbetty is a big one but durmils are the only snakes I would have mutiple of

Yeah males dont normally get over 6' while females dont normally get over 7'. I say normally because Black Betty is unusually large at 9 1/2' long and 27 lbs.
