Got a couple more new pics of my baby today -- AND found out that he's a Biak -- which probably explains his attitude, Biaks have a reputation for being -- ornery ;)

Thanks Paolo! :) I think that he's pretty incredible...
Can't take credit for the pics though, since he's still not living with me... Chris Marshell has been kind enough to keep me updated in pics of my baby's progress, until I'm ready to have him shipped :) I can't wait until he's here and I can take pics of my own though!!

So he was a Biak,
If this is any consilation, Biaks tend to take longer than other GTPs to change over, so he might stay that awesome orange colour for a while yet... Nice snake Jen:)

That is a cool color. How big is she now?
Your snake looks a bit like Matt's snake which is pictured in the left column under his name. Does your snake have a locality Matt? Just curious?:D

Thanks guys! :)
Greg, I'm not entirely sure how big he is -- he's definitely grown since I first picked him out in November though!
Mary -- me either!! Hehe... As Chris mentioned though, Biaks tend to take longer than the other locales to change -- so it could be a couple of years before we'll know what the final result is going to look like ;) In the meantime, I'm definitely going to enjoy his gorgeous orange :) And I'm sure that he's going to look very interesting when he really starts changing!

LOL -- yeah, "so cute" until they sink their teeth into you *grins* -- which, from what I've heard he's done on quite a regular basis to Chris... I don't know if hugging them is really a good idea ;)

Vic -- you're correct, in general these snakes are considered to be display animals. However, Once they're over a year old they can be handled sometimes... their spines are less delicate by then, and are unlikely to be harmed by handling. Temperaments really vary with these guys though -- some are mean as hell, and others are quite docile...

Hi Jen!
Great forum! And do you have your little guy already? Is it doing well? Biak eh?

Hi Marc,
Hopefully in the next couple of weeks! :D Just working out the shipping arrangements... I'm sooooo excited :) And yes, from what I've learned he's a Biak, although I don't have any paperwork to back that up... It's gonna be great watching him change though! :) I love the look of Biaks (if not the temperament... hehe ;))...
That's exciting Jen!! It's about time you're getting your beauty now! But better a healthy animal that takes longer than a rushed animal that may be a dissapointment right? :)
I can't wait to see pics you will make of your GTP! Be sure to let me know when you have him! :)

Yep -- about time is right Marc! ;) I can't believe how patient I've managed to be -- not that I had much choice, but still... patience is generally not one of my strong suits when it comes to getting something that I want as much as I wanted this guy! Hehe...
And don't worry, I'll be taking LOTS of pics... LOL :) Hopefully I can get close enough to him without him biting my head off to get some good ones... hehe...
I still remember your first post of this little guy a long time ago, but he should be in prime condition when you get him. That's important right? :) Your patience should be rewarded with a well feeding healthy chondro which should give you many many years of pleasure!
:D
I'm sure it'll settle down after some time. Pure Biaks are just more alert and anxious so they need more time to gain trust/acclimisation.
