I was bored tonight and decided to take a few crappy indoor pics, of three of my carpets that I felt needed a few updated photos. I just love watching carpet pythons blossom... I really was hoping to get some of my ivory jungle too but he was hiding in his bird nest and there was NO digging him out of it without seriously upsetting him and the last thing I want is a regurge!

Whats nice about these photos is that they are raw and entirely unedited!!!

So without further ado here's Persephone... yes she IS really this yellow! Actually, in person, she is more yellow than this. It's a bit washed out. You would have to see her to believe it! Ow owwww!

Little Miss Hiss is getting, well... not so little anymore, she outgrew her baby tub and 2nd enclosure already and is now eating large adult mice! Wow! Just months ago she was eating XL fuzzies and small hoppers... this snake absolutely LOVES to eat and never misses a meal but the stubborn brat absolutely will NOT take it from me or my tongs. I have to tap her with it to let her know it's there and lay it on her log and she glares down upon me and if she could, she would spit on me, then she will happily eat it. I feel like I am making some sort of offering to a goddess... LOL! What I really love about this snake is that she seems to be getting BRIGHTER and is getting all this marvelous yellow on her face!

Annndddd here's Rorschach in all of his extremely expensive glory!!! One hell of a jag he is! Buy cheap Jags, get a cheap looking snake. Buy an expensive Jag, get a snake you would never even find for sale at a show!! There was no way in hell he was holding still for these pics. He is that annoying snake, we all have one, you know, the one that the MOMENT you focus the camera he starts zooming up towards the lens to investigate. haha...

They are buggers aren't they!? That especially drives me crazy when I'm doing a real photo shoot outside and my battery is dying. LOL

re mice
i find it best to get carpets onto rats asap pal

sometimes the older they get the harder it can become to swap them over,as they have a taste for mice only

takes a lot of mice to feed an adult ;)

i find it best to get carpets onto rats asap pal

sometimes the older they get the harder it can become to swap them over,as they have a taste for mice only

takes a lot of mice to feed an adult ;)

Oh trust me... I KNOW. It took me forever to get kisses to even look at a rat!!! Unfortunately they were eating mice before they came to me, so I will deal with it when the time comes. I feel than an adult mouse would be more nutritious than a baby rat of the same size anyways so I will fight the rat battle when it is time. My carpets also get chicks, and just the smell of chicks on the rats is often enough! I'm a pro at convincing snakes to eat what they don't want so I am not too worried! :)

Oh yea I knew what you meant! I was just telling you the reason I dont mind feeding mice for the time being. I know it's a PITA to switch them over... and yea... I had to do the mouse guts on the rats for a long time with kisses! Luckily my other carpets dont seem to be as picky and will eat either without too much trouble, even the little ones!

haha i love the stories and comments about them. They are beautiful snakes. My little brat girl would like me to treat her like a goddess as well. She finally doesn't really bite often, but i don't hold her for too long and let her get upset...because she's learned that pooping is much more effective than biting!
