No there will be no garters there!!!

But, I went to the fall show put off by the same org. There were alot of beautiful boas, lots of morph variety there and in BP's as well. Many different lizzards, ??(the water ones with the weird x name??) TONS of supplies, cages ect... They were sadly lacking in Corn breeders there (only 3 and 2 of them only had 1 morph each) So Hopefully I will have healthy hatchlings by that time!! I also plan on having the larger prey items there which they say no-one has ever brought, so we should do well in that area. I am making different viv decorations and props, backgrounds hides and climbs. Hubby is making some 6 bin rat racks for me to sell as well (unfortunately, they will not let me bring live rodents in, so customers who buy the racks can come out to my house for thier first breeders if they want)

My local show doesn't allow garters either
I wish it was easier to get black racers 'round here too.

What you said in bold.. I think is VERY smart of them. The last thing you want is a bunch of hungry snakes smelling food while people are trying to handle them.

You know, I never thought of it that way and your right!! That would be horrible!!

All I was thinking was having a tank of males and a tank of females so that when/if someone bought a rack system, I could fill it for them way cheaper than them going to apet store, rats there are $10-$20/rat.

But like I said, they'll just have to come out to my house if they want the cheaper prices!!:D

you need to remember that the BC Reptile Club is in it's infancy and is doing better each year!! The more of us that attend, either as customers, explorer's or vendors, the more the BC Reptile Club expands and becomes something great!!

Join us and help build it up!!

i would really like to see some more snake supplies there such as pvc enclosures, hides, thermostats, racks , heat tape ext..... but i think for a small show they have a pretty sweet selection of animals especially boas and bp's

Snakefood
02-08-12, 09:35 PM
Yes, me too!!

I will have different hides and such at my table, but haven't thought of the others. I'm not sure if heat tape is legal to be sold here and am trying to check that out!!

Hubby will have built some rat breeding racks for this show, but I hadn't considered making snake racks. Thanks for the idea, maybe I'll have that figured out by the fall show!!

If anyone else has any ideas of what I should thinking of selling, I am open-minded.

Trent and Pythons9991, I hope to see both of you there!!

I'll most likely be making an appearance from the island. I was going to be a vendor but my hatchlings won't be ready by then. I'm glad BC is getting more into the reptile game and expos, not as awesome as the Ontario shows, but it is very true that the BCRC is young.

Yeh I am not too far away from 15th . But then again nothing is too far away in this town lol. I am looking forward to this show . I am also working on trying to get an expo going here in the north too. If not this year then next year for sure. Hoping to work it out this year though. Even have a chance of having the Python hunters come here and at least do a guest appearance and if the timing is right , maybe even have them film an episode here . maybe I can take them down to Williams Lake area for a little Rubber Boa hunting lol.

What we did at the Des Moines show was we had a table with our racks but the rats were outside in the van in the parking lot. I led customers to the van to pick up their rats after they paid for them.

Yes, I sell frozen rabbits from pinkie to jumbo adult (we don't live too far apart either, I think??) as for price, I have my reg prices, which I am just re-vamping now. And I am thinking of lowering them a bit just for the show too!! So we'll see.

3 lb rabbits from me are $10ea. We could do a % off deal on bulk though.

I have NO IDEA on shipping, but if your willing to find out the details of shipping frozen product from Langley to Kelowna, I'd be willing to drop them off COD.

I do come out to Kelowna once in a while, but the next time I may be there will be after the show in the end of may. But for other occasions, We could pre-arrange drop-off when I'm in your area.

It was great to meet you and the other guy, cant remember his name. but it was fun to talk with you both. I wont be going out there tomorow, got some cleaning and feeding to do in the snake room that needs to be done. would have been cool to get the frilled, but i guess its for the best, i did manage to go their, have a good time and leave without breaking the bank :)

you guys are funny!! Yes I am female!!! I know, my name makes it hard to guess!!

Caylan- Annie from "Annie's Rodents" says she thinks she knows you as a customer. Do you order from her??

Either way, she says for a delivery fee of $20, she will let me piggy back your rabbit orders on her Kelowna deliveries.
