Traded our Rosies at the Denver show.
BTW what are ppls thoughts on cypress mulch for colubrid bedding? We used the last of ours for the 3 new snakes we got and I think its kinda moist but it will dry out eventually. I like it because I can mist occasionally and not worry about it getting nasty like when a water bowl gets dumped with aspen. I do think however cleanup will be more dificult. I was considering changing over to cypress for all the colubrids when we get a rack for them.
Here is our Male

How do you post a vid and its link is a pic?
I made them public and noticed depending where I veiw them through the link is way longer sometimes but I keep getting a white square.
Maybe its just the different look of the bedding that has me interested, I think its more suited to a humidity needing snake like our brazilian or the longicuada.

lmao! I love the tail rattle. From what I understand it's them telling you to leave 'em alone or they're going to bite you lol
My first king was all rattle and no bite. My newest king just bites. I've only gotten her to rattle once for you.
BTW, I love that cool little black dot on your checkered's back.

I have my snakes (including my goins king and my gopher) all on 100% cypress right now to try to keep the humidity up a bit. Winter here is super dry with ambient air humidity hovering around 20-25%. Working great so far. They seem to like it too. My king has nade tunnels under his water bowl and under his cold hide in the cypress. He doesn't do it near as much in aspen.
Congratulations! They're cool looking. :)

Cool Kings man, welcome to the club I really think Kings are my favorite kind of snake.
I have mine on a mixture of black aspen and cypress. I also added the cypress because of winter dryness. He seems to like it. My first king wasn't a very great climber, he had no grip on things and would slide off. This one I've gotten him a vine and some other stuff he can climb on and he seems to enjoy it AND is much better than my last when it comes to grabbing a hold of something.
The rattle is great! Never had mine do that although the kid who gave him to me said he does when he eats.

Mine rattles as soon as you touch the latch on his viv. Just for a frw seconds. He will then rush the door looking for food but when he sees its just me backs off. He has actually missed prey I offered him and shot right out onto the floor. Gotta love a kings feeding responce!!! I haven't heard of anyone posting " my king won't eat" :)

OH man yes!! I fed mine on Sunday, he missed last week's feed due to being in shed.
Sunday I dangle his pinkie in front of his little burrow hole and he shot out of it like a rocket and chased it across his tank to the otherside. I bet I could hold it in the air and he'd jump for it like a dog!

Thanks Terranaut. Its very dry here in Colorado and I am running a humidifier for the colubrids and thought the cypress would be a nice upgrade.

The only issue I ever had with a king eating is when I tried to feed my old king a rat pink. He went freakin' ballistic in his cage until I took it out. I thought he was going to bite me he was so worked up but he allowed me to get him out and get the rat out and clean his cage of the rat's scent. Later, I threw a mouse in and he was a happy camper lol
I fed my new king the other day. She caught her food before it had time to hit the bottom of her tub  lol

Hey Kiljosh, don't you get mold issues with the aspen? If my corns spill there water there aspen molds really fast. Well gets kinda black maybe that's why you don't see it? Does it smell funny?
The girl actually didn't eat when we got her home, The breeder says she is a shy eater and will make it disappear from a dish if you leave her alone but that didn't happen. Maybe it was new snake stress. We will see how her apatite is in a week.
