I've been toying with this idea for a while now and finally decided I'm going to do it... I'm going to put together a website for beginners regarding ball python care with good descriptions, photos, and video tutorials and explanations.

I'll cover...

how to set up an enclsoure
types of cages
what/how to heat a cage
humidity
f/t vs live feeding
how to thaw a rat
ball python behavior
picking out a healthy snake
etc

The goal is that it'll be more user-friendly for new owners, and more interactive that most care sheets that are just written text. I'm pretty excited about it. But I'm torn as to what to make the website name...

pythonregiuscare
ballpythonlove

Any ideas? I'm not good at coming up with these things :hmm:

I like PRC more than the second one.

I can't find a "regius.com" anywhere. See if that's taken.

I like regius.com

I also like the idea of making it interactive. Will it be sort of a Web MD thing?

Not sure how interactive I'll make it... it'll take time to put it together 100%. But it'll definitely have detailed descriptions, explanations, photos, and video tutorials. Also links to good websites and this forum of course. Most care sheets just have written text and new owners might not understand some of it. So I figured video tutorials and photos will help with that. I'm open to lots of ideas and suggestions

.info & .US both hose you on renewal costs after the first year.

Godaddy has.com sales all the time.

I like that names so far but I have one thought. Many beginner's owners will hopefully be getting most of their information from your site. I am not sure how many of them will know the whole regius name. You should try to keep it simple ball python-ish. do you know what I mean??? It makes sense in my head lol

@Spooky good idea... didn't think about that! What name ideas do you have??

@Wayne with a .com you never have to renew? I'm using go daddy and that's where I was seeing that .info and .us are cheaper

i like the idea of the latin name, and they royal in there...but i agree that many people wouldn't know that right away if it slapped them in the face...i know, i was recently one of them!
i wound up clicking on ball-pythons.net, and a few other ball python named sites, and wound up here after figuring out snake latin names *later*.

Although, if you do the search engine tags properly, it should show up for people if they are typing in just ball python or royal python. It's been many years since i've made a webpage.

royal python ball care? lol that has it all. royal ball python regius...hmm...lol

Working on it now... will take me a few days to get it up and running...

Problem is, they have me using this "instapage" thing that helps you with layout etc, when I just want to work in HTML directly. Trying to figure out how to change it... I'll let you all know when it's done of course!

I would avoid pythonregiuscare, it abreviates to PRC, go search that.

The people's republic of china is the official name of china, governed by the chinese communist party. Prc is an abreviation I would avoid personally.

Well looks like China will have to "move over" -- there's a new girl in town! :D

Truthfully, I wouldn't worry about that.

Yeah, I'm not worried... I would've never thought of that association :p

It's almost done..... Kudos to people who make websites... When it's done it looks like it's so easy...but it's so much work! All those years learning HTML are finally paying off :p
