Again! So stunning!
we have tons of those tiny little toads at the cottage during the summer, they are soooo cute!
One time at the cottage our younger neighbour was over and we were entertaining him in a pile of dirt and he found one of those black salamander things with the yellow spots and tried to eat it...

These photos are AMAZING! You are SO lucky to see all that in the wild!! I noticed you said some where in PA...where in PA?
I am all for seeing snakes and creepy crawlies... but those giant flying insect things scare the life out of me!! Your photography demonstrates obvious talent  Out of curiosity, what camera do you use?

You guys might be surprised to hear that I am shooting with an unmodified panasonic lumix DMC fz-18 with no extra equipment added!!! It certainly does it's job for having only cost $400 when it was new!!!! I will someday upgrade, but for now it's serving me very well. I strive to prove to people, it is not the camera you use, it's the person behind the lens!

She's right.. I have never used anything fancy for all those picture I take.
I am buying one! I have commented on another of your threads about how good I thought your pics where! I am surprised that such quality can be obtained from such a relatively cheap camera. All I have is my phone and an old Olympus om10. Not great.

Absolutely incredible pictures!!! I am a horrible photographer- every picture I take comes out blurry, or out of focus or off on the lighting. I just don't seem to have an eye for it. So I really enjoy looking at other people's professional shots!!! Keep 'em coming!!
P.S. @ asnakelovinbabe, where in PA do you live? I'm down near Philly.

So amazing! I have not done hardly any photography this past couple years. I used to be in a photography club years ago! It was really fun to always keep my camera with me waiting for that perfect shot. haha this was back when i used film!!
You have some amazing shots, and of course the critters are all beautiful.

PA ftw.
Honestly, you must be a good field herper because I have never managed to find a smooth green or really anything besides the common toad and garter snakes.
Have you ever run across a hognose in your travels?

An Eastern Hoggy is my holy grail as far as PA is concerned! I know of an area where sometimes they have been seen, but eastern hoggies are very rare in PA and so I will have to hunt high and low! Believe it or not there are many species I have not yet located in PA... black rats and copperheads being two that people find all the time and yet, I NEVER FIND THEM!
But I do know one thing... when I hit an area that has them, I will find them. I sure know how to find snakes!

you guessed it! :) gigantea, i got a line on subspines and another i cant remeber the name, but the gigantea is unfortunatly extremely hard to breed, and their for not worth it for a breader to bother around here at least. i might pick up a subspines in april at the bcrc show this year, if their is any thier.

If you mean the third photo down in my first post of the snake coiled in the tree roots, that is a very large and gravid adult female eastern garter snake.
Awesome pics M'Lady, look forward to seeing more. Loved the Garter vs Worm & Spider vs Cricket stories.
