That is what the BOI is for: Board of Inquiry® - FaunaClassifieds (http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13)
I think it's against the forum rules here to talk about specific breeders and their reputations.

I don't like using the BOI. I like finding out info from people I trust. I'm looking for positive or negative info, not bad mouthing any one. If it is against any rules, then would the mod. please remove this thread.

Here's a video. The thing I don't like is they are handling a cobra with young children close by?!

I was looking at their website and I am not found of seeing so many field caught animals being offered for sale... That type of stuff makes me not want to support them. As well as things like the video Eli posted....

That truly disturbs me, that they would take A Cobra out, when there are very young children nearby.:(

If I did something like that in NY, the DEC would take my license away for endangering public safety. I have to protect the public from any danger or contact with any of my venomous snakes. No one other than another licensed handler can even touch any of my venomous snakes. If he had to drop that snakes tail, everyone in that room would be endanger. And no one can tell me that that could not happen. I have over 20 years of experience with venomous and you never know what will happen.
Yea, that's crazy. Did y'all hear him mention the Venom 1 Team? They are the guys from Swamp Wars.

Venom 1 Team is well known with anyone who keeps venomous snakes. They have flown antivenom to many states to save people.

Is it wrong of me that I wanted the guy with the paper towel roll to get tagged?

I got a few blood pythons from them. They came to me with RI and died within a week or 2. When we called them one guy who had answered the phone argued weather it was our fault in husbandry and basically said sorry about our luck. My husband called back (ticked off) and spoke with the owner. Once the owner found out there was no heat pack shipped with them and recieved pics of the deceased he was very accomodating and replaced them all with healthy gorgeous animals which once again had no heat packs.
Would we do business with them again? Probably not due to the fact that we had to argue to get our point across that there would be no way they could have caught RI and died within that short amount of time unless we kept them in the fridge. Also we were told the reason there was no heat pack was because it was hot in florida and they would have cooked. BUT its not on a cargo hold of a plane where they are shipped and for the rest of the distance the animals needed to travel, we are in seattle WA.
This being the only time I ever ordered animals online Im very scared to do it again outside of my nearest surrounding states which is a shame because at the moment Ive been looking for a new female boa morph to hook up with our male salmon and there really isnt much to chose from here...

Im sorry. I do not like BOI type threads and one thing I like about this site is that I have not seen one until now. I hope I dont see another one but I dont have any control over that. Just expressing my opinion on the matter.

I was not impressed with them when I emailed them about their banded water snakes. I said, please send photos of the best looking animals from the group, I am looking for any hypos or reds you may have. One of the snakes I got photos of was emaciated and none of them looked great... And that was supposed to be the best. Then at that same time I saw an ad they had out for an albino checkered garter snake that clearly had advanced scale rot and it was being blown off in the ad as no big deal. if that was a BP or any other python they would have felt differently. Companies that treat natricines like crap and as junk snakes rub me the wrong way, plain and simple.

I feel the same way. I'd rather keep these sorts of stuff on the fauna classifieds BOI...and away from our forum on here :hmm:

These threads are not for bashing anyone. They are for finding out what companies or persons can be trusted to do business with. If you are a outstanding business and give great service, then a thread like this will promote your business. It helps others from not getting ripped off by people who give poor service or low quality animals.
I'm on here with people I trust and know and I want to know what they think about a certain business, so I can decide if I want to business with them. I thought that what these forums were for, to help and learn from each other.

I agree with Jerry. I just spent alot of money I don't have and some of a friends money to a breeder I don't know. If I get scammed and the someone asks about him wouldn't it be unfair if I didn't tell you? Anyway in this case I had some concerns about a company I was looking to do business with who seemed really shady when I started asking questions. I pm'd Jerry as opposed to post my experience because I honestly wasn't sure if ugr and these other people were the same or not.

PMing is a much better way to go to get info. Problem with a public thread like this is that it can easily lead to flaming and people can just feed off each others accusations. By the time its all said and done, even if the accused is able to get his/her defense in, in some peoples minds, if they were innocent, they would never be accused, thus guilty and then having to prove your innocence. A no win situation for the accused.

True, but as I had stated before, if the business is a upstanding business with a good reputation, it will promote their business. I know in my snake show business, I go buy word of mouth. If I don't have satisfied customers then I am out of business. I welcome people checking up on me and asking others what experiences they have had with me. This was an open question about this business, not asking for negative feed back or any name bashing. If any name bashing would have happened, I hope the Moderator would have stepped in and removed it.

Nothing wrong with asking about them. Any time i am looking for a snake the first person i check out to see if he has what i am looking for is Ben Siegel. He got great prices, animals, and always a pleasure to do business with.

Ben Siegel is a very upstanding business man to deal with. I would recommend him to everyone.

He truly set the bar for how a reptile business should be ran. I have got 4 snake from him and would buy from again without a second thought.
