Overhead Lamp + Ceramic Tile = Belly Heat. And both my corns are doing very well:

40 watt bulb in 20 gallon long gives consistent temps between 80 and 85, depending on how warm my place gets in the afternoon on a warm day.

I love UTH and Flexwatt, but lamps are so easy. I have the lamps on timers, and at 7:30 my night drop feature kicks in - the lamps turn off.

He is a good looking corn.
I don't offer my corn a basking spot as I hate lights of any sort being on in my house.. lol My corn has flexwatt but I think any snake would bask if given the opportunity. I think its more of them not "needing" to bask as long as they have a warm spot to help with food digestion.

Absolutely. As long as heat is provided, overhead or underbelly doesn't matter.

I have used Flexwatt for years as well. My collection is down to 3, so I sold my rack and just went to 2 tanks for my corns and an unheated bin for my Black Milk - the easiest snake in the world to keep (74-76 degrees is optimal).

...okay, Garters are just as easy.

Why do you only have 3? So, all you have now is the okeetee corn, black milk and black king?

Beautiful! Love the okeetee corns. I have a couple of reverse okeetees myself!

I found that it felt like all I did was feed and clean. I wasn't interacting with them, having so many.

I now have 2 Okeetees and my Black Milk. I am much more satisfied now, taking time to hold them and put more into them, if that makes sense.
