View Full Version : My snake is not looking so good...
He just sits there and doesn't move. Any ideas of what could be wrong?

Hmmm, I think the problem is that you're keeping it on sand. Also, he's looking a bit ribby. When's the last time he ate?

It looks a little dehydrated ........ or possibly dead. I am not sure which though. :(
Its not a nice thing to have to do. But have you considered force feeding ?

some snakes don't move around much and can go a long time without eating;)

You really should have a thermostat on that heat source or else you will cook that poor snake.

I think you need more humidity.

IDK what the others are talking about...
I have a lot of experience with those kinds of snakes and he looks OK to me. The only thing I'd recommend is giving him a little bit more heat to keep him looking happy and healthy. Good luck! :)

You should put a hopper inside of it.

The tenth rib back looks like it maybe broke. Plus i think it's time to start power feeding if you ever want to get any real size on this guy.

Maybe he's just a little stressed from over handling? I would leave him alone until he's fully acclimated.

Up the humidity and food size, should have a bit more meat on those bones in no time :)
Is that one of the vegetarian snakes???
You should try mixing him up a nice salad :)

That must be that king snake you see pictures of that was trying to eat it's self.

Desperate times call for desperate measures...
At the risk of being unpopular or flamed, I think it's time to try live feeding to bring some condition back to the snake.
Thanks, guys. I can always count on great advice from members here.
I will try them all (except for live feeding...he's never able to catch the prey).
