.... for a JCP around 3 1/2 ?

Was reading, if fed too often `like everything else i suppose` they will get too fat. Does she look over fed in this image ?

Been feeding her large rats every 2 to 3 weeks, is that too much ?

I have no clue, but she looks great! I've been struggling to get mine to eat at all.

Thank`s bro, i`v never had any problems with her eating, i`v tried mice, rats, day old chicks and quails. Going to give her a rabbit as a wee change soon.

I always put hot water in a casserole dish, turn the lid upside down and place her food on that so it heats up the rats back. Give that a go if you`v not tried before or maybe a change in food as they can get a bit funny with food i`am told. Sometimes they can go without for a while then start again.

I feed my JCP about the same size a large rat every 14 days (or so) - after reading shaunys posts i have kept a less strict feeding "routine" :)

Really cant remember when or where it was - he was talking about switching feeding times keeping the snakes "on their toes" :) I now do a feed, then feed sometime in the 2nd week, then sometime in the third week, then sometime in the 2nd week, sometime in the 3rd week.

So it could be anything from 14 days minimum to 26 days maximum

I think your feeding schedule is ok. When I first saw the first picture I thought she looked a little overweight, however she also looks like she just ate as well.

Yes this is what got me thinking that i maybe feeding her to regular MT

She ate a rat last week, so still a bit of a bulge there.

She looks great to me. I feed my Female Jungle Carpet every 14 days and she is about the same age as your carpet. I would say just feed your carpet every 14 days and you should be good. By the way beautiful Carpet.:)

Pretty much same feed "schedule" I keep. It's not really a schedule for me as I feed based on behavioral triggers. If the bugger is just sitting there like a lump (provided that my husbandry is still spot on) then I do not feed on a schedule. This could be like yours, 14 - 30 days (I've had him go a month between feeds once).

it could be just the way she's sitting in the picture.

Yup she just looks really relaxed to me. Her enclosure looks set up to keep the pounds off and the feed schedule seems spot on. We have switched out carpets at work back to medium rats every 2-3 weeks, as they are mostly couch potatoes there. But they also get the left overs if any ball pythons won't eat soo... but no she doesn't look overweight to me, and feeding anytime between 2-4 weeks is best. Like Rob said, switch it up. Try giving her two rats one meal and leaving her for a good month once in a while. Snakes don't need a routine. Great looking jungle by the way! Caylan.S.

Just To throw in my two cents, Gorgeous Healthy Carpet there, and I Agree with the staggered food schedule, mine is on a 10 day 15 day cycle when I'm not fattening her up for breeding
