I just got my first ever snake on Sunday. :blink:
I have always wanted one, and this is SOOOO exciting.
He/she is a 4 year old corn snake. Very lovely colour and quite active. I haven't had to feed him yet, but I was quite ok with picking up the jumbo mice from the freezer (our shop sells them individually from a tupperware box ..... :shocked:)
The previous owner told me Gary was fed on the Saturday - and he has just poo'd all over my laminate flooring. So that is 4 days after being fed. Is that pretty normal?

My adult corn poops about once a month - was what hit the floor runny and extremely smelly or did it look like a "poop" - it may be that the snake was nervous and musked at you :)

lol It.s not as if I'm an expert Rob, but I was glad the limited knowledge I have helped. When Gary struck at the mouse I was able to catch Galaxy on the way back down :-D

Ha ha ha. I still have a dent in my ceiling where my head hit it. I honstly didn't expect Gary to stike like that. So glad you caught me Swany. It was a great experience and, with the great advice of Swany's supplier, Gary is moving on to baby rats for his next feed.
I will get some photos posted us soon. Do I just put them here or is there a special place now that I am no longer a newbie? :)
