For those of you who dont know, Ramón is my '10 BRB. I dont have any pics of this b/c my smart phone is smarter than I am. Anyway, he just started shedding last week and for the most part is done, EXCEPT his head. Its like he has a helmet consisting of his old shed. I tried helping him get it off but he wants no part of that. He is getting enough humidity due to his water dish being directly over the heat cable in the AP rack that he is in. How do you get the shed off his head if he wont let you help him take it off?
How about a little soak in a warm bath

Update: I tried the wet washcloth routine and ended up getting tagged 3 times. I got most of his "helmet" off but after getting tagged, I gave up. I guess Ill just have to let him get it off on his own. Thing is tonight is feed night for all 16 snakes so we'll see what happens.

I might try that next. He does like to soak when hes like this so I dont think that will change anything but its worth a try.
I also have a shed rock for him so he has that opportunity as well.

put him on a moist towel and then cover him with another moist towel and him moving in between the two should rub most of it off. this is my favorite and most used method.

One other trick is a wet pillowcase, put him in it, tie it shut and put it back in the cage to keep him warm. After an hour or two he should be good to go.

This is kinda a random question espetially for this thread and I don't want to change the subject to much so can just one person answer it then we can get back to the thread. Anyways here is the question. What does it mean to get tagged? Does it just mean to get bitten?

Exwizard, shed problems can (but do not always) indicate humidity issues. The water dish over the heat cable is a great move, but have you ever measured the physical level? As a 2010, he should still be in the high range.
Also, assuming he has a moist moss hide in his cage, just pack extra (dampened) moss into it. If he has to "tunnel" into his hide, that action alone will help with shedding.
Good luck!

I like this idea a lot.
