rabbits?

Ok so Im trying to fatten Queen up our large 7'+ boa that just had babies in Nov. Ive been feeding her large rats but we dont have as many as we should and I dont want to start feeding off the breeders. So I was thinking maybe if I toss her a bunny every now and then she would be happier. Does anyone here feed thier adults rabbits? Im looking at rodentpro website and Im not sure what size would be appropriate for her. Id know if they were here in front of me but... well they arent. here is a pic of Queen so you have an idea of her size.

I have a rescued 4.25ft ball python who had his stomach ripped open by a rabbit...and i had a rabbit as a kid...a norweigen dwarff...and they can kick and rip open just about anything. If you find one, try it freshly killed, or at least very stunned. Those claws are huge, and those scales are not impervious!

I wouldn't go that big. My 9' BCI does well on XXXL Guinea Pig.

I was actually thinkin of having rodentpro mail me a frozen dead one. I wouldnt dare risk havin my gorgeous snakey ripped up. Those back legs have some power I learned as a kid when we owned them. Plus I love bunnies so I couldnt watch one get killed.

If you want more weight on her you can also try guinea pigs. They tend to have more fat on them so if fed as a staple your snake will be overweight but as a weight gainer it's a good choice. The only thing you need to watch out for from what I remember, is that their skulls tend to be a bit thicker than other rodents so the digestion of the animal completely takes a bit longer. Maybe by a day or two.

What the heck is someone thinking trying to feed a rabbit to a ball python?! Am I the only one confused by that?!

I to am looking into rabbits for my big girl. A jumbo rat is usually about 3/4lb so look for a bunny around the 1 lb mark. Or in Canada jumbo rat 300ish grams and the rabbit about 400-450 grams. Get a couple as she may not take them right away or rub a rat on it first so she knows its food. I would not do live for obvious reasons. Let you know how it works for me. I'm going to try quail for my carpets as well :)

I am trying to get my Burm on to rabbits' Like an idiot I did not initially think to scent it with rat bedding. So he did not take the first bunny. 1.25 pounds. Ghost is a tad over 7" and 15 pounds.

go for G/P's, rabbits actually have the LOWEST fat content (compared to G/p's, rats and mice and chicken)

if your looking to fatten her up a bit, I'd stick with G/P's and/or chicken.

I breed rabbits just for my snake collection.Use various sizes for each snake.My albino boa female eats 1 1/2 lbs rabbits with ease.She is just over six feet.They dont have the fat content of rats etc,but since i feed rabbits year round I must say they look real good[IF i do say so myself lol]Lots of muscle tone.I found rats put on the most fat of evrything I have tried.My boas were not that fond gp.

No you werent the only one thinkin that I personally was wondering how much lube you would need to help the poor snake down it. But then if it constricted on it the bp would be shooting it across the tank... :P Of course I was gonna keep this thought to myself being silly and all but since you asked

I Know quite a few people who buy my rabbits for their balls. Rabbits come in all different sizes and ages. A weanling bunny from a meduim sized rabbit is only half a pound, so I sell alot of them to ball owners. I also will feed my 3 biggest corn snakes rabbit pinkies.
