This morning when I woke up my boa did a number 2 in his water bowl and was just chillin in the water ( eww I know gross right). So I had to bath him. I basically lathered up my hands with warm soap and water and let him flow thru my hands. At first when
The water hit him he tryed to jump out my hands (could have swore he had legs...lol ) after a few passes he got use to it. Now he is fresh and clean...got his snake swag back...lol

What type of soap?
If you have a temp gun flash it on the water and try and get it as close to his temperature as you can. You may surprise him if the temperature variance is too large, the guns are also more accurate then your skin so you can be sure that the water isnt too cold, or too hit.

sorry if i'm reading your post wrong but.....

did you run him under the tap ?

or fill the bath ?

imo its always best to fill the bath and check the temperature with a lazer temperature gun

i personally would NOT use soap on any of my snakes, you never know how their skin may react

its most likely me being over protective,re the soap

imo bath water temperatures are very important

some of my carpets poo in their water bowls, imo it makes for easier cleaning

never had a snake take a bath with the poo though pal

cheers shaun

i am with you Shaun, i never use any type of soap on any of my animals.
If they need more than just water (like this situation) i add a few drops of white vinegar to the water.

i have used baby shampoo, warmed by my hands on the body before. I don't see how you've never had a snake take a bath with poo shaun LOL my baby snakes are like, always wallowing in their poo or pee. Drives me nuts. If you get the temp right, they don't freak out.
Usually someone has left a huge poo, bit urate, and maybe just for fun, a shed, all in the same pile and sits there next to it all pleased with themselves. Half of my snakes have found one particular spot they like to do their business in repeatedly...like i've trained them or something...and the other half sit in it.
