I seen this on another site. It's actually a Olive Python. I didn't know they could get that big, but it turns out they can.

No problem! I thought it was a scrub eating a baby cow first time i seen it.
Then some one was able to enlarge the pictures enough to get a better look. Until then i never knew they could get over 10 feet. It's a huge snake with out a doubt. And let's face it that is one Awesome picture.

Nice I particularly liked this one. Not a fan of little dogs. Olive Python eats a Maltese terrier.

I believe its a green anaconda and a tapir, hard to tell with the terrible video quality. It is NOT a hippo, the feet are a dead give away.

Poor snake, after a meal like that if it hadn't been captured it could have coiled up and slept for two lol

It likely would have died, they cant digest something that size fast enough. It would begin to decompose and possibly kill the snake.

Wow, wouldn't the snake just be sick if it went bad in its stomach ?

If so it would just throw it up later. I had my BRB regurgitate a rat 8 days after eating because it was to big.

It was super nasty and even after bleaching his cage twice i still can't get all the smell completely out. I keep him in a 106 quart plastic tub so you would think it would be that hard to get rid of the smell.
lol. Iv.e yet to have the pleasure :-p

I wouldn't want to poop out that shell!!
lol! That was my thought as well.
It always amazes me how large of a prey snakes can eat. How well do they digest these prey that have hard shells or skins (i.e. turtles and gators) or even antlers? To me it seems like their bodies would have a hard time digesting it even if it can.
stephanbakir
01-15-12, 03:30 PM
Antlers amaze me too, they are incredibly dense.
Looks like they digest it, otherwise we would have way more dead snakes.
Rogue628
01-15-12, 03:38 PM
I know right? And it's not just digesting, but how they manage to get it down without the antlers cutting their insides to pieces!
stephanbakir
01-15-12, 05:07 PM
And they still generally eat horned animals head first, which blows my mind!

Yet some people worry about a mouse or rat foot hurting a snake.....
