Cage Sealer

Hello, I am building my dragon a new cage but had a few questions about sealing it. The back will be covered in ledges and stuff and will be painting so do you think I need to seal that? His substrate will be patio pavers so do you think I should seal under them? This is the best sealer I can find :(

I would seal everything with a water base sealer of sorts. I use Vermont natural coatings, It is made out of whey and once dry 100% safe for your pets to be on and around.

I use this one Vermont Natural Coatings - Polywhey Floor Finish - Quart (http://www.vermontnaturalcoatings.com/store/polywhey-floor-finish-quart.html) because it's what I had left over from refinishing my floors.

I have used polyeurathane and two part garage floor epoxy. Both are safe when cured, but take a bit of time to do so.

That is really nice looking but how much weight did it add? I keep all mine in stacks and weight can be an issue.

Its actually mainly foam. lol.

All together the cement and foam probably added 10lbs to the cage. But the cage itself is 4x2x2 and 5/8 ply. so it was heavy to begin with.

Ive made foam inserts and covered them with cement in a 40g they weigh probably about 4lbs.

Ahh foam! I was toying around with making one out of that but I just never got around to it. Maybe later on I will add it into some of mine but ehh for now I like what I got.

I considered doing cement but decided that it would be a lot more work than it is worth and it is not quite the look I am going for.

I looked at that one but does it make it shiny? Also, do you think this would be ok for custom hides? Is it humidity resistant?

If you are talking about the vermont coatings- The satin does not have a real shine to it at all. It will withstand a lot of humidity! I sealed my BP's cage with that about 8 months ago and it has held up great. I also sealed my wood floors with it 3 yrs ago and they still look new! I have total faith in being able to use that product on hides, vivs and anything else I wish to seal.

Ok, Thanks I think I will use that stuff or something similar. I make hides and stuff but have not been able to find a good sealer so that will help a lot!
