Thinking about buying my first boa...

There is a local guy with an Anerythristic boa for sale. I really like the look of this snake...however, I've never owned a boa...only pythons.

Any recommendations or advice?

Boas are very easy to take care of, very mellow and even tempered so they're pretty fun to pull out and play with. My son even had a RTB as his first snake when he was a kid so that tells me they're a hardy snake that is easy to take care of.

Another awsome quality about boas is how their personalities reflect cats to a certain degree. If a person is cat savy they will soon realize the same behavior on the keepers part that excites a cat to play will excite a boa. So you don't do that. Also their eyes do the same thing as a cats eye. They dialate when excited or stressed so it makes it easy to read a boas mood. If I open my viv to pull out either of my boas and their eyes go all black I just pet them a bit and if the eye doesn't go back to normal....I either pick the other boa or close up for a while. But boas are so docile this seldom happens. My male I hand to my kids friends who are first time handling. The only reason I wouldn't do this with my female is because she tends to grip harder and that can freak a first timer out a bit. Like I said get one ours are all our friends favorites and super easy to care for after you get the viv temps/humidity right.

yea i was suppose to get my durmil yesterday but some un expected things happen with my girl mother so I'm in new york atm and new york is very different from AZ I'm here till wed or Friday differently go with a boa can't w8 to get mine
