I have a little game I found that I like to play with Dave. I found when I am sitting in my chair and he is sitting with my usually in my lap or on my stomach if I hold my fingers about 8 to 10 inches above his head he will stand up and reach for my fingers . Sometimes he will stretch up as much as 8 or 9 inches and just follow my fingers as I make little circular motions . Then I take my hand away and he lays down. I will do it again and he raises up again. It is a fun little game we have. I am always careful to keep my fingers out of his reach though lol , just in case . But it is funny to watch . Who says you can't teach a snake tricks

I will try to post a pic or vid of it one day . It is pretty cute cause he is so small still .

Sounds like a feed response, always fun though.

Closest thing my snake's have to a trick would be when I walk up to my king's tank, if I don't see him I tap the glass a few times and he comes out to investigate. Usually right to the very front of the tank and in a damn hurry haha.

Using this I can open the door and tap the glass and he'll usually crawl into my hand.

My old king used to do that. As antisocial as kings can be, they're really curious and quick to come out and see what's going on! lol

My new king shows that curiousness as well. As soon as her lid is opened, she's coming out of her hide to investigate. When she sees me, it's like "oh...just you, human" and retreats back into her hide. Can't wait to start working with her! :D

And they only trick any of my snakes do is making their food disappear fast :p

Lol those are all great stories . I am sure Dave is just sensing the heat from my finger tips and probably is a feeding response but it is entertaining. The funniest part is when my wife tries it , he coils back as if to say not a chance lady . lmao

The reason he most likely goes to your hand and not your wifes is due to your hands probably being warming and smelling funny

For future reference, to embed a video from youtube you go to advanced, copy and paste the URL AFTER (very important) the "watch?v=" then highlight it and click on the little youtube icon on the top of the text box.

So for your clip it would be RI6QPDksYqM&feature in between the youtube tags. :D

RI6QPDksYqM&feature

PS it's "unavailable" because youtube is still processing it.

Yeh , now I wish he would see his food as food. Has not eaten in 2 weeks. Not too worried. He is fussy , but he does eat eventually .

Dave and Tequila are both really social, it is great - they are very interactive and rarely use their hides. It is great - and the dogs find them very entertaining - lol. Our Beagle loves to sit and watch them and when we have them out he likes to be really close to them - and he isn't at all aggressive with them at all.
