RIP Ebony :(

My little MBK that I just got on the 2nd just died in my hands about 30 minutes ago :sad: I waited the full week and then fed him on Monday. I checked him yesterday and he was (or seemed to be) fine and then tonight I go in there to check on him and he's laying on his back and there a dead smell. It turns out the dead smell is his regurgitated mouse, so I pick him up and he's moving around a little bit with his tongue flickering and then he rolled over and died in my hands :sad:

imo,you should contact the breeder you bought him from,to let him know what happened

you may also be offered, a refund or a replacement

don't get me wrong the cause of death,most likely has nothing to do with the breeder,but imo,most decent breeders at the very least,would offer you a replacement if there was one available

Now he's breathing again, but otherwise not moving. What do you make of this?

I got him from a local reptile shop. I know the guy personally and is very knowledgeable. I have gotten 8 of my snakes and my blue tongue skink from there and all have been 100% healthy. I am going to let him know what happened tomorrow whether he's dead or not. If he dies (which looks probable) I'm going to see if he will refund me or give me store credit. He only has a 2 day guarantee, but hopefully since I have given him so much business and since I know him, he will reconsider.

I think the regurge was a sign something was wrong, sadly he was to far gone to do anything about it :sad:

I guess I did pretty good, he would have made snake #29 and he's the first snake I have lost. I have lost 2 leos and 4 tree frogs, but that was like 2-3 years ago.

Well, I took him to the pet store to see what he thought and he said it looks like he has broken ribs cause he's all flattened out close to the neck (he wasn't like that when I put him in the fridge). He's going to have the vet do a necropsy and will let us know what he finds out. He didn't offer to give a refund, store credit or anything, but I'm hoping he will after he gets the results of the necropsy

They did find a few broken ribs (I'm stumped as to how that would have happened, unless it happened when he regurged), but he said they were non life threatening. So, now I'm left with more questions and absolutely no answers. The reptile shop owner is going to get in touch with the breeder and see if he can work something out. Hopefully I will get my refund, but I have no idea if I will or not.

I am so sorry about your lose. You now what you say one death can bring another life. Or something like that. I am not very good with sayings. I just knew that there is some saying saying that when one animal dies it is at least a chance to get a new one.
