So my fiance took me to Repticon Charlotte on the 8th. It was our first reptile show together and we came home with three new babies. We were supposed to get a ball python and a BP morph but that didn't happen, too many other pretty snakes.

My Fiance's first snake that he considers just his, he named him Conan. This was his dream snake and now he has him. A Pueblan Milk snake. Male, he musked me the moment I had him out of the container. The man and his wife that we bought him from was VERY helpful. He knew the parents of each snake had documanted feed records posted for each baby had them all sexed and offered to re sex. had hatch dates any question I could throw at him he had an answer for.

So we bought this Hypo Black Rat male from him as well. I wasn't planning on getting another black rat but he was sooo cute and 18$ I couldn't say no. I named him Lucian since my other male is Draco.

We also came home with my first king snake. A male blotched king. I thought he looked like he was gold and black and loved his personality. I named him Imhotep.

Sooo I saved a lot of cash by not getting the BPs I wanted and I love all three of our new additions, and I will have more to spend at Repticon Columbia

Very nice snakes and much better value than the BP's.

Thank you everyone, the big thing that talked me out of the BP was that it was a spider and I have read that sometimes when bread they have health problems. He was so pretty though. I'll take more pictures of the one in Columbia and not just of what I bring home. That one is a lot bigger.

Imhotep is an epic name! Nice collection you have there! :)

As for Spider BP's...my first BP was a Spider male, and he has limited "wobble" which is only noticeable during feeding. What I have noticed is that if he is out a lot and strengthens his muscles it lessens. Not saying that it will be a guaranteed improvement for the "wobble" but I highly recommend Spiders anyways, as they mature quicker and are awesome feeders. Mine has never refused a meal and he has such an amazing personality! :)

p.s. Thats awesome that you have horses! :D

Thank you, My fiance hates the name. He doesn't like any of the names I picked so he was thrilled to name Conan Conan. We disagree about names for everything. Poor hypothetical future human children.

I want a spider pretty badly, that one at the show was just so pretty and I kept going back. Again my Fiance doesn't like pythons or boas other than our sand boa so he helped to talk me out of it. I recalled the health issues and at the time didn't know enough to know what to look for to make sure it was healthy.

I love my ponies, I wish I had the time for more but as of right now I don't. Once I graduate I hope to. They break the bank. Love them to death but man they are expensive.

Haha, yes my boyfriend is always skeptical of my choice for names. I think I suck at picking them and sometimes it takes awhile, but they do seem to suit the snake after all! So definitely keep the names, they are neat :)

I highly recommend them, and if you were planning on breeding in the future they are PERFECT for creating some truly stunning morphs. (Bumble Bees and Lesser Bees are some of my favorites). And plus, babies won't always get the "wobble" either, its more a game of chance. Just look for one that doesn't show obvious signs and it should be fine. You can always look some up on youtube to get an idea of how bad it can be vs how it's not even noticeable. (P.s. If you like it, then you get it! :) It doesn't hurt to just have one at least! :D )

I love them too. I have one back home and I love her to bits. But they are soo expensive to keep. Food, Farrier, Vet, Tack etc...it can add up fast and in large amounts.

@ Kernal thank you.

@Hurrok yes, I spend 80 every sick weeks to get their feet trimed and my farm call is about 100 so I always make sure to split it with my friend. Shot time kills me and my gelding needs to have his teeth flaoted this summer. They were both 'rescues' so there is a lot of behavioral and health issues with both of them. I'm not confident enough to fix my gelding under saddle but ground manners I am darn good with. so they are learning quickly. Gelding never really had manner issues just mounting and girth tightening issues. The mare tried to kill three ferriers and the last one told me she was borderline dangerouse hence why she costs and arm and a kidney to get trimmed but now she is better. She was a sweet heart when I worked with her, I got banned from her and it all went down hill from there. Now she is back in my care and picking up her feet for more than just aiming them at his head. Never an issue for me but for others she just hates life. snotty snotty mare
What do you have? just out of curiosity.

Imhotep is an awesome name for an awesome looking snake like this. Idk why I never thought of it before.
