Because I said on another thread that I will start to put up pictures of my collect, I will start with my monitors, because, well, monitors are "my thing". Lol. They're absolutely my favorite animals to keep, and they are the most rewarding. I have thirteen monitors. What you won't see pictured are my trio of timors, because they exhibit empty cage syndrome.

Here goes:

We'll start off with Max. He is a blue tail monitor. He loves to carry his stuffed turtle around and use it as a pillow.

Next is Dory. She is my female blue tail. She's not as outgoing as Max, so I don't have a lot of pictures of her.

Silvia is my green tree. I had two, but I gave the male to my brother to introduce new blood into his breeding stock. Now he wants to give all of them to me, lol. Anyway, here's Silvia.

Raven is a black rough neck. He is an amazingly friendly lizard so he resides at my studio successfully creeping out tour managers. Lol.

Last but not least is Mr. Pickles, the black throat. He's the future star of my reptile education show. He can load into a carrier all by himself, completely stress free. We accomplished this by me earning his trust via feeding tongs.

Yup, I will eventually get around to having the same name everywhere. Joined every forum at a different time with a different snake on my mind.

Want me to change it??

Simple control panel (my end) tweak.

Nope, gonna keep this name, gotta change it on other forums. Spooky is my best looking snake IMO :)

Awesome monitors! I'm slowly being swayed to expand my interests to critters with legs...

Max is about five feet long. I haven't ever been able to get an official measurement on him.

whats "empty cage syndrome"?

BarelyBreathing
01-05-12, 09:01 PM
It means you never see your animal because they are very shy and hide all the time. This is pretty common with certain species.

Actually, on second thought, I think I got my ackies before the nile.

Great pics mate... Ackies would be the way I'd go if I ever went into monitors.... That's a big if and a bigger commitment tho :D

I don't know which are more impressive, the snakes or the monitors?! Just incredible collections.
