Nothin' at all wrong with a shovelhead. Ask Harley-Davidson!

Hmm nah I don't like this one as much as the others (surprisingly, since I usually love chunky snakes)

Aren't this the same boa they call Viper Boas?

Chuck, I'm more inclined to call them solomon island ground boas. Unless they've changed their name they look exactly like them. The viper boa is also similar but they tend to stay very dark.
These ground boas, if they are the same, are naturally these colours. Much like ATB's you can get a varying degree of colours in each litter they have.

'...a varying degree of colour in each litter," much like the Dominican Red Mountain Boa as j understand them.

The ground boas are one of the ornery things I've ever dealt with. There is no such thing as a happy ground boa in the Candoia family. I think the tree boas are so pleasant simply because they took to the trees to get away from their ground boa counterparts and found life to be good once they did that, lol.

This is rather disheartening.

It's not all sunshine and roses. I could lie and say they're a great pet which just loves interaction, but then people would be rushing to find them, only to discover they've been horribly misled and are now stuck with an angry snake that they can't find a good home for.
A lot of people think Blood Pythons are unpredictable and aggressive, but they're kittens compared to having to look after Candoia carinata x. There are reasons you don't see many of these in private collections and it's not because they're difficult to find or expensive to purchase ;)
