Hi Guys, This is Dave from Rainbows-r-us-reptiles.com I just found this forum through one of my customers (strutter769) and thought I'd show off some of my killer BRB's!!

First a little about me. I've been keeping BRB's for 23 years, first just as pets and then got into breeding them. Once I started breeding the collection grew exponentially to where it is now, 130plus BRB's of my own and lots of babies every year.

I have everything under the sun when it comes to BRB's, all the known stuff like high color reds and oranges, High pattern like Bold crescent and Bullseye. Hypo and Anery.

I also have lots of new stuff, some of which is brand spanking new this year.

Just a sample of my eye candy.....

Elvis - The pinnacle of my Savannah line

Wow. I've never seen anything quite like some of those. I bet they're even better in person too. Thanks for sharing and welcome!

whoa, those are stunning, makes my little Nero look boring. Can you expand on the genetics of these guys? Zebra is co-dom, extreme zebra is obviously the super form, but what about the rest? Is it just selective breeding or do you think the high reds and high oranges are legitimate coloration morphs?

High red and Orange are NOT morphs on their own, just selectively bred for color. Litters tend to come out with colors distributed in a bell curve more or less centered around the parents. if you take the brightest babies and breed those you move the bell curve up. Do that a few times and you get some insane color animals.

Zebra seems to be a recessive gene within the Pearl line. I don't think it's co-dom since the parents don't exhibit the trait. I do think like most pattern morphs it has variable expression. Had two litters where they popped up, both sired by the same male bred to two of his siblings.

I don't normally breed siblings but in certain cases I do and in the last two years I've "found" hidden traits in three unrelated lines. IMO it's worth the risk to isolate the "new" traits. Of course there needs to be outcrossing with each trait to keep them strong.

Brandi is from my first found trait "Aby" it popped up in 2010 and repeated with the same pairing in 2011.

So the extreme zebra seems to just be an aberrant variation of the standard zebra?

I spent some time perusing your site, I'm really looking to see how the calicos prove out. I'm also curious to see if you've gotten a hold of any of sharps anery or het anery babies? I would love to see some snow BRBs but it doesn't look like he's too keen on working on that. Do you think it'll be a hypo x anery that produces the first snow or is there an t-albino strain out there that I haven't seen other than the one at Rubios?

I would put it more that the extreme Zebra's are higher expression than the typical Zebra. Of course right now it's all speculation, need to work on the genetics but that will take a few years.

I have Sharp line Anery adults, produced a litter of Anery babies and another litter of DH Ghosts.

Snow is Anery and Albino, There is an Albino BRB and once they become available I'll begin work with that morph and combinations as well.

I believe Rubio has Albino CRB's.

I gotcha, his site doesn't look like its been updated in 5 years, what do the ghosts look like?
I was curious about the hypoXanery=snow because hypo is a T+albino, I didn't think it would make a "snow" per say but something similar maybe.

To the best of my knowledge, Sharp line Ghosts have not yet been produced. Mike Lockwood was working with the Seib line which now appears to not be a recessive morph.

There is a true recessive Albino but they are not yet available.

I'm the amateur here, but those don't look anery to me. Anery is the lack of red, it looks like there's some red in there.

What you see is some brown still showing through. BRB's have Black, Brown, Red and Yellow.

Anery BRB's are most noticable as babies. As they mature more brown comes in.

Baby pics of the same two....
