Freezer-burned pinkies?

How long would you keep frozen (in a zipper-type freezer bag) mouse pinks? Would you discard them when ice crystals form around them? When they discolor? Ever? (sic.) :hmm:

But I would never know, my snakes gobble them up so fast they never get a chance to go bad.

I'd leave them as long as you would any other meat in your freezer. This can be 4 to 12 months. But you must check it. Pinkies will smell horrible when frozen if they're deteriorating. Discoloration is also a good sign. I think you'll be able to tell :)

A Garter Snake..... the very first snake I ever picked up, and the very first snake ever to bite me! Thought I'd be a tough guy in gym class and show the girls I wasn't afraid to pick it up. Thankfully, I didn't drop its right away....he did draw blood. I had to go to the nurse to get the "wound" cleaned. :shocked:

OK, round one is eating, and only my female Parietalis (who is in the pre shed blue eye) went psycho.

She is extra grumpy.

Cee Cee, my female garter, will bite me if I don't get my fingers out of the way quickly enough when I am feeding her...but that is because she is a piggly piggers! I have learned to put the food in her enclosure and then get my hands out quick! If I put my fingers anywhere near her while she is still hungry she is like "mmmm yummmy!"....strike! That is the only time she has ever actually bitten me.
