Provent A Mite question

The van explains not to spray a cage with no substrate. I have this new pair on paper towels and prayed the towels inside the cages. Of course I let it air out 30-40 minutes before re-introducing the animal. Any cause for concern there? We plan to put them on coconut shell bedding after their next treatment in 30 days, unless someone here tells me differently of course.

I would be extremely careful with that...provent-a-mite when used improperly can kill snakes...I only have experience with garters and I know boas are much bigger but I would not use it in any other way other than directed. I had a friend who lost a bunch of garters because he used it improperly.

imo you WON'T need to repeat the treatment in 30 days mate

provent a mite has ALWAYS worked first time everytime for me

if your using newspaper substrate ,then just spray some spare news paper with prevent a mite.store it in a tub with a lid,then use it to replace any soiled newspaper in the tank as required

the fume dispersal reccommedation for provent a mite is " 2 hours " mate

as said 1 treatment should be all you need

please remember to always allow 2 hours for the correct fume dispersal time and always do it in a ventilated room (windows open)

provent a mite,is the only mite product i use,its great at its job...!!

Thank you everyone. I did not re-treat the cages this morning, but took out the paper towels with the dead mites and replaced with another treated napkin. I didn't let them air out quite as long last night as you all have suggested, but I did ensure all was dry and odor-free before introducing the animals.

I'm really hoping they'll only need this one treatment and be fine. I've fought this battle before and it ain't fun! We're taking extra precautions and treating both Lucy's and Cici's cages today.
