Kayla has a disgust of roaches, so excuse her potty mouth.
Got a shipment of 1400 roaches in, needed to take them all out 1 at a time because it was infested with fruit flies an we didn't want to introduce eggs and flies to our colony... took 4 hours but we did it.

Dubias, hopefully they last long enough till we get more lol. I figure at his size 4-5000 breeders should sustain itself, Wayne?
We are only feeding off males.

I have to admit, Im not the biggest fan of my roaches either. They are, however, a necessary addition to the zoo. My sav was eating me out of house and home before I got them. So funny to watch him now when I get the roach tub down. The tubs sit on top of his enclosure, so he knows immediately when I get it down what is coming next. He goes crazy! Starts literally jumping up and down, nose to the glass, walking on his back legs. You'd think I starve him the way he acts.

In a word...YES...but all of us are weird. So we fit together rather nicely.

I had a pet hissing roach, until it drowned itself. :(
I think that the giant hissing roaches are really neat, and I'll get another at the next reptile show, but this next one will get water via a sponge in his dish, and not just water in a shallow dish.

That's a great price. Online they are about $50 for that many I think. You can find private breeders with extra that well them cheap though

vid, now.

I should start a roach colony so when I finally do have something that can eat them I've got plenty. What's their life span?

The 1000ish roaches were 80$, but they were infested with fruit flies.
A few hours work and I can proudly say, out of the 100s of flies in the bin there are NONE flyin around. and all eggs have been disposed of.

Btw... any I the only one who noticed that randy is back?

Ill see what I can do about the video right away. Its pretty damn cute.

As for their life span, they live a good long time. It takes them about 4-6 months or so to mature and then they live for a further 18-24 months.

Hahaha, I do that, too. Or I say "you're" so and so. Example: "Hunny, I'd like some orange juice". "You're orange juice". It's so immature of me, but I can't help myself.

But this video is awesome. Totally worth the sound, too. Poor Kayla. Lol.
