View Full Version : Mystery creature
Hiya folks :) I had a friend ask me what this creature is on my Facebook account and I've been trying to figure it out for a couple of days! First thought was Komodo dragon, then I thought well the spikes remind me of a sharks teeth and the way they constantly come forward. I've pretty much decided it's aquatic whatever it is. I thought maybe a snapping turtle as the top jaw looks the right shape but again, I found a few pictures and nope. Not a snapping turtle. Anybody care to help out on this mystery?

Oh I did see you'd said that! lol I just haven't been back since and posted lol Being a scientist thought dude, I'm going to need an seperate image of said species but different individual to prove theory I'm afraid lol :) There's a lot of bullshjt on the internet.....
Mind you saying that the whole site in that link is about turtles and it does look like it's ok doesn't it. I was thinking maybe it was a single photo of a turtle in amoung other stuff and could be a misidentification. I'd still be interested to see another picture showing the same kind of mouth but yeah, that does look ok :) Well done :)

All images were pulled right off of Google Images when I typed "leatherback sea turtle mouth" ;)
Wow, I do not think I would want to have my fingers in that mouth! One snap and they would be gone! I suppose these could be pictures from dead animals though

That would be pretty freshly killed. The mouth is too pink. That laceration looks like it is still seeping a bit too.
