Hi all :D
So, now that I have a JC python, the last addition to my collection is a boa.
I LOVE the look of this snake, and I think it is a CRT? or a Suriname?

Sadly as I understand they get as big as 10 feet+ (sometimes 13?)
I would really prefer to keep it 6 foot(ish)
So I am wondering, do Boa's have mini versions like some pythons? like dwarf and super dwarfs?
I have alternatively looked at Hog Island Boa's as I understand they are about the size I am looking for, but I love the way the snake in that linked picture looks.. just want it around 6 feet instead of 12 lol
Any suggestions?
Thanks!!!

Yes, dwarves are just different localties. Hog Islands stay small, Crawl Cays... there's is a pretty good amount.

So there are snakes that look like Suriname and CRT's but are half the size?

Not necessarily look similar, someone with more knowledge than me will probably be able to explain it better.

Also male snakes do not get as large as female snakes. I think this would be the same with this species? A male green anaconda will only get to be between 8-14 feet while a female can get to be 20+

If you want a snake that will get around six feet get a male colombian red tail. !3 feet for any boa is huge

I'm confused, please explain your self, you are correct if by "!3", you meant "13"
The smallest of all Boa constrictor subspecies are the Boa c. imperator from Tarahumara/Mexico, the Cay Caulker Boas and the Ambergris Caye Boas.

Yes I meant 13[ lol I'm a good typer write]. I may have embellished that a bit but a male Colombian BCI won't get much over 6 unless it's power fed aren't I correct. Or get a hog
6-8 feet for a Colombian bci. Snakes never stop growing until they die :0

I saw a rather large hogg island female at the last expo I was at, she was for sure over 6 feet (4x2 enclosure and she was pressed up against the side, taking up most of the back, all of the side, and part of the front). Jussayin.
here's a link that has average lengths at the bottom.
