You can see it. I really think that one is just a locality of another. I mean, they ARE the same species (Morelia spilota), just different subspecies (chenyei and spilota). Although, Diamonds are found way down south in Australia, and Jungles are found in the Northern tip and M. spilota mcdowelli is in between them! Soooo, in other words, I don't friggin' know!! Ha ha

The Diamonds are not supposed to be arboreal at all actually. Not sure though. I mean, they are a carpet python, which is basically just a colored Chondro!!

Actually there are several distinct traits that seperate all of the Morelia subspecies. The biggest one is scale counts. Diamonds are obviously different from JCP/CCP/IJCP...and although we see much intergrading of the subspecies a true diamond is hard to misidentify. You can read more in Python of the World Vol. 1 Australia by the Barkers http://www.vpi.com They have excellent care sheets for IJCP which I would recommend for a first time carpet, plus fact sheets on JCP and CCP.
