View Full Version : Adding to my Brood...

OK so there is a couple in my condo who loved my beardie so much they decided to get not one but two.
They adopted a beautiful sunglow female (maybe '09 or '10) she is a stunning peach colour and a cute little '11 charcoal grey leatherback unsexed but I am betting on male
His wife (though she was SUPER gung ho even after my husbandry speech and my breeding speech) cannot tolerate the crickets so she is trying to rehome them so...
I guess I may be adding to my brood... I dont mind the female and i have NO intentions read them, ZERO of breeding them they will be housed separately I just think shes beautiful if I had a choice I would take her over the leather back babies are easier to place than adults and like I said shes pretty.
He said he is going to talk to his wife and I will talk to my hubby about hopefully getting her if not both.
I will keep people updated!!

I just want to say I've never heard of sunglow bearded dragons and would really ask where they got them cause this is the second time the have been mentioned and I would like to know who this 'breeder' is that produced them.

sunglows are a really pretty peach and light orange colour, I have no clue who bred her she was adopted as an adult and I doubt my friend asked

It's possible I have just always being referred to as sunglows but like said I could be wrong I'm not exactly a genius when it comes to bearded morphs or genetics but if I get the female she certainly is pretty and if I were to breed her to my male which I wouldnt but if I did they would make some super pretty offspring

@ Valvaren
I love the names. If you ever get a one eyed snake make sure you name it Toc the younger.

I've been wanting to name one Toc for awhile same with Kalam and Adaephon. Also Kathilion is my adaption of Cotillion but I had to change it due to my fiance having always read it as Coalition and I didn't want him able to make fun of her (plus it turn out he was a she so atleast Kathilion sounds unisex to me)
Edit : Also sorry Lady bug for off topic
Its funny how much colour these little guys can get. When I rescued mine it was a dingy brown colour, which I thought would just be its regular look. In the month or so since I got him though he has steadily increased and is a very bright yellow now. Such interesting creatures!

^^^ lol I'm convincing the couple to keep their bear dies she loves them just not the crickets she also didn't realize they take a little time and I do t think she likes the female's attitude she is a little skittish
I told heir would take the female and rehome the leatherback but I think the idea of getting rid of them was easier when no one was interested soil hoping they keep them

what about dubias? They don't make any noise.

Kyle, it's not the noise they keep escaping somehow I have no idea she also says that reptiles are too much work. I guess I never noticed it's a labour of love

wow... some people, keeping crickets from escaping isn't exactly rocket science.

That's what I said and I scoffed when she said that beardies. Were too much work and I kind of looked at her and went.. Ok

Gee, let's hope that one never decides to dip a toe in the gene pool if she thinks a lizard is too much work :D

Yea no kidding,
It's the whole chopping greens that threw her off... Hah I'm convincing her to keep them but I did offer to rehome them

Well I dont think I will be rehoming which is good, BUT I need to go there tomorrow morning and take a look at the female, apparently she is under the weather, I've been told she has odd swelling in her arms under her chin and her stomach she also hasnt pooped in almost a week so I will be applying beardie first aid..
