Folks a bunch of CB Natrix Natrix - European Grass Snakes (The Euro version of Garters) have recently became available in US collections.
I am not posting this to make one red cent, But to allow the members here a rare (at the moment) opportunity to have a really cool snake for a very reasonable price.
I am purchasing one. The fellow that just hatched these out is a respected member on the garter snake forum. (owned by Hobby Solutions, same as ssnakess) where I also mod.
Julio is a good guy.
Anyways, he's only asking $15 per snake plus shipping to your door.
Anyone interested can either go to Garter Snake Forum (http://www.thamnophis.com) or simply ask me to contact him.
Here is what they look like, And care is identical to US garter snakes.
A few pix of the 2011 baby Natrix....they are awesome little guys...

A species native to the UK, and Shauny's bonnie Scotland, all the way into the Russion Federation. These animals are hardly ever available in America. I have wanted one for years!!

I am sitting here.. thinking of how I could get one of those. I have an extra 40 gallon tank but I know I can not. I would love to they are so freaking cute! Gah maybe later on I will be able to but right now I know I can not. :(
Yet again I'm conflicted with distance... I've wanted one for a few months now.

Amazing isn't it?
Last week almost no one in the US could even find ONE and all of a sudden Julio has over 100 babies.

@Wayne are you saying Julio hatched those?
How would I find out how much the shipping to calgary Alberta would be?
infernalis

I'm not sure exactly how Julio came into those, But I'm not one to question.
I wanted a Natrix for years, never thought I'd score so cheap either, we are both in NY so he can get them to me for $20 shipping.
I'm amped over this opportunity.

Are they a CITES listed reptile? if not you can just ship them over. Won't need to pay for CITES, just 239 for inspection (Be sure to bring a book with pictures to the border showing that it is non native, preferably one thats taxonomically accurate.

Actually, if they aren't CITES listed and you have under 2 non CITES animals, generally you can just drive across the border with them, as long as you claim them when they ask, and provide photographic proof that the animal is what you say it is.

Kk here is the deal. I will be going down before Christmas for a rat order. I have absolutely no issue picking them up for you guys. I am going to ask my wife for one as a Christmas gift. I have four boas atm and she is making re-home one so I may be able to talk her into one of these bad boys!

You may be able to coax them into it.
I will ask the more experienced (AKA European keepers)
You know, you are always welcome to join Garter Snake Forum (http://www.thamnophis.com) (I mod there too) and start a Natrix thread in the husbandry forum.
I keep both forums open in tabs simultaneously.

I'm guessing their hubandry is similar to their US counterparts? If so I'm interested in purchasing one if shipping isnt outrageous. I was just going to ask on here for recommendations on where to purchase garters as I'm ready to buy. Good thing I saw this thread first! I'd much rather keep something a little different. :)

Holy wow! these things suck down the groceries, I have never seen a baby snake before that consumes as much food as these do, I think they are going to become rather large snakes for a Natricine Colubrid.
