My friend's got a bearded dragon, and he's had it for about 5 years, and now she's getting really sick... I don't know if it's just old age but she's very weak and not eating well. She'll chase the crickets then go to bite at them, but will miss completely (by a few inches) and won't be strong enough to try again. She can't even catch them if he's delegged the crickets. She also hasn't shed in months which is another concern. Has her time just come or is there something else he can do? He's not quite sure whether it's worth the effort/stress to take her to a vet if she's going to pass on soon. Any suggestions would be extremely appreciated! :) :(
Thanks,
Kate

Give me an e-mail. Describe cage temps, heat, light etc... Try and explain everything in as much detail as possible and we'll go from there.
Kyle
It's way too hard to figure out what is going on without more info. Five is young for old age to set in if the beardie has a good set of genes and a proper setup. It could be anything from parasites to infection to impaction to liver disease.
Do try to provide more detail about caging, temps, diet, substrate as Kyle said, but even so a vet visit really is in order. Many vets will work out payment plans or even accept volunteer work as partial payment. Fecal exams are generally not expensive at all and it would be a very good idea to at least have that done.
Tell your friend we wish him luck and please do keep us posted.

I wish I could give more info, but he's kind of being weird and doesn't want to tell me about it so I don't know what I'm going to do! I guess I can't get help for him if he doesnt want it... thanks for helping guys, I'll keep you posted for sure.
