Out of 4 ball pytons, one corn snake, one jungle/coastal carpet python mix, two dumerils Boas, two western hognosd snakes, one Bolivian boa..I have only 3 for sure boys. All the girls have no trouble eating anything in their face lol
So, it may have been asked before but has anyone noticed how we girlies get greedy and the bratty males don't?

No, For real. I am almost always spot on sexing garter snakes by looking at them.

The smaller snake is an adult male, the larger is an adult female, as you can see, the difference is dramatic.

Since the females carry a LOT of babies, they need to be bigger to handle it.

And yes, he is courting her, they locked that day and made 32 little ones.

Snake 101 - females do tend to be better eaters. As far as they're concerned, the next generation depends on them, so they're driven to get as big as possible to be healthy enough to carry their young (or incubate their eggs) to term and continue the species.

Since I have never owned a boa, I could not say one way or the other, but I would bet that since they also bear live young, that mothers have to be at least wider in the middle than males are.

I bet a boa breeder could tell on sight...

No.. That's about normal, however the girl was a girthy momma, her insane hugeness makes him look smaller.

That girl is almost 28 inches long and thick, He's about 18 inches long and thin.

Seriously though, that guy is sooo small next to the girl! They are both good looking though.
Around my house you can tell which ones are female when we're thawing food. All the girls come out and start flicking their tongues and moving around, and the boys hide *lol*
