Yo wassup Ssnakess forum. I used to be active on here as snakelover111 when i was in 5th grade, but i haven't had a reptile since then. I am now 19 and a sophmore in college haha and it's good to see the sites still up and running strong!

But anyways... stopped by a pet shop after lunch since it was right next door and walked out with a new corn and tank ect.(didn't plan on buying a snake when i woke up.) BUT i forgot a kind of heat source. Now it's not too cold in my room, but it is a tiny tiny tad bit on the chilly side. Is there anything i can do for my snake to keep him warm til i go pick up another heat source? Like put socks in his house to insulate it or something? Any advice would be great, thanks!

Do you have a desk lamp? Just angle it in there but really get a proper one soon as you can

Corn snakes are pretty hardy and as long as its comfortable for you it will be fine for a day or 2. I would give it something to burrow in and just don't feed it until you get the temp right.

The desk lamp sounds good as a temporary solution. I dont know if insulating its hide would do much good as they dont produce body heat to keep in. Hopefully sum1 who knows more can help.

How do you heat your place?

If you have radiators or space heaters in your house it might help to place the cage there for a little extra heat overall

make sure you take the temperature of the hot end while you use a temperary heat source

too much heat is way worse than not enough heat for your snake
