It was vertical as opposed to the normal upside down hanging ones, they were really calm too, I was fooling around the nest catching curly tailed lizards that were hiding around it. Never got stung once.

I've never been stung, but I did a wasp extermination job with a massive "in the wall" nest, my partner had one somehow get into his bee suite and it stung him on the neck, he freaked out and ripped his helmet off and they really let him have it :(

I got stung really bad by mud wasps. I was playing football in a field on the edge of a pond. I got tackled into the mud and swarmed by about 150 or so. I got carried away to an ambulance with roughly 120 stings. I would have been ok but they hit my face first and I got all turned around.
I get stung on average 10 times a year.. lol

I've only ever seen it once, and I've seen plenty of them around here, pests that you can't get rid of.

He was only stung about 100 times, but it was all to the face/neck He was fine after a week, and he looked normal after 2

No kidding with the french, it confuses us :P
I worked as a beekeeper's assistant for a summer during university days in Lethbridge. Im a tall guy as well (6'3"), and unfortunately all the people that had been working there before were pretty short. Which, of course, meant that all the suits they had were small ones. Which is still fine...except for at the wrists and ankles. Luckily for me honey bees have a pretty mild sting, but I will never forget the first nest we collected from! Its incredible how thick the air gets with them when you disturb their nests. I stopped counting stings after around 50, but that didnt even get me to lunch time. I have to say it was a pretty cool job, especially the next day when they got me a bigger suit. ;)
