so i was feeding my snake`s and it came time to feed alice my colombian boa .well she struck the rat and cut it open really bad in one bite i couldn`t belive the damage! i hope she never bites me....

I had a carpet break a frozen rat's leg on the side of the cage just from striking and pulling it into her coils. I heard a snap and looked in and the leg almost completely broke off.

yikes... I use forceps i saw a vid where a guy used his fingers with his GTP and she grabbed his wrist and held on coiled around him for a half hour

My adult bp did this with me once. I usually use tongs to feed Pika, but I had used the tongs with the sick rosy boa and I haven't been able to get a new set since. :sad: But yeah, really gross; leftover tail... lol

Haha. I use my fingers for my adult corn but tongs for my little guy.
I almost got bit once.
The male is has a very good feeding response.
He's the only one of mine that coils.

Lol, I feed all my guys frozen/thawed as well, and the hotter the water you thaw in is, the softer the rat's skin gets. I had my adult male BP constrict an f/t medium rat so hard that the rat's stones popped out of the sac and stuck onto the side of the snake's cage. My fiance, who was helping me feed, gagged and turned an odd shade of green and bolted from the room. I thought it was hilarious and wish I had had a camera phone at the time.
