the video is from Thailand, so Asian Rat snake makes sense. and it does look like one.

It does rather prove that if nothing else, reptiles can in fact be protective of a mate/friend.

Also provides more evidence that Thailand has 99.99 percent of the crazy/insane/interesting reptile videos out there.

Seriously! Nearly every "crazy reptile video" I've seen has Thai being spoken in the background, from cobras to retics to geckos fighting snakes.
