hmm lets see that requires some math. he was 6 years old when I got him in grade 9. i'm guessing around 11 if my math is correct.
he's such a sweeite pie, i love him so much and miss him when i'm away at school but I can't bring him with me due to city by-laws.

Baaah I say bring him anyways... Toronto sells ball pythons in pet stores.. if that's allowed, you should definitely be allowed to have you baby with you!

I am currently getting an Honours BA in contemporary studies combined with the environment and society option and a geography minor. they cut the geography program at my school so if I want a major I have to move but I HATE moving because it involves packing and I HATE packing, so i'm staying here as long as possible hoping they bring back the program. Then I want to upgrade my geo minor to a major, get a masters and PhD in physical geography with hopes of becoming a countryside biogeographer. but one step at a time.
I'm from Toronto but not going to school there. I'm going to school in a small town near Hamilton and they have by-laws that say I can't have snakes with something to do with their scientific name having "python" or "boa" in it or something like that. It kind of works out because i wouldn't want to leave him here winter break incase his heat supply burns out or power goes out or something, and i wouldn't want to travel him back and forth too much. (though it would be kind of fun to keep him in the living room to bother my two housemates who are pretty mean)

http://www.lilwaynehq.com/forums/images/smilies/baby.gif is that same snake that's in your avatar? If so, he got A LOT bigger.
How long did it take him to reach that size?
Wolfus_305
11-07-11, 11:49 AM
he was probably the same size, just different angles and that picture is a lot smaller :P I got him when he was 6 years old, and that picture was taken when he was 8 years old and the ones in this thread are from when he was 10 years old.
I can't find the original one my avatar pic or I would post it

you don't NEED a masters or PHd to become a countryside biogeographer down here, a buddy of mine just got hired as one at a firm here in town. He just went on his first flight last week.

I was originally in architecture and was really enthusiastic and KNEW I was gonna go on for the master's degree, well that changed in year 2.

ahah yeah, since i was a kid I wanted to be a vet and specialize either in horses or reptiles. grade 12 hit and i realized i couldn't do math or chemistry...
then i wanted to be a teacher and specialize in special ed... then i realized that in highschool there are so many kids that don't even want to be there, and it would drive me nuts trying to help them when they clearly don't want my help..
then I decided university prof because people who want help will arrange to get help, those who don't won't and I can focus on helping the people who really want it.

ahah he's my baby, i love him to death. I hate being away from school because I miss him. In toronto he is right beside my computer desk so he "watches" stuff on youtube with me :P
I will post more pics when I'm home again.
I ran out of rats (partly due to bad planning and partly due to a giant chest freezer that is impossible to do an inventory in) and am in the process of getting more. he's looking good for only eating 5 months a year

Its true, if it weren't for my advanced theories prof I wouldn't have thought to go for my Masters

I can only speak from my own experience, but to me this translates into "I want to go into slave labour for my first ten years or so". I would never want to dissuade you from going for your dreams, but make absolutely sure thats what you want before starting down that path. Its a VERY competitive field in most areas of study. Your first few years will be contract work where you are competing for each and every class and semester you teach, and for very little pay. Its sort of like applying for your job every three months even though you already have a job there. On top of your teaching, office and preparation hours, you will have to continuously be researching on your own, writing papers and conducting studies in your area. You cant get your job back next semester if the new guy has twice as many publications on his resume. I dont think most people really appreciate how all-encompassing being a professor is. Get ready to eat, sleep, drink, dream, breathe your field of study! Oh and kiss that social life goodbye...:)
Hmmmm...although having said this, I now work about 80-100 hours a week, so I guess that might be true for any job you want to be great at!

Ahah I am keeping as many options open as possible. by the end of my undergrad I'll have the option to go to teachers college as i'll have enough credits in a teachable subject (geography) or I can go on and do my masters etc.
Last year i have a horrible english professor. the guy was a maniac, rude, crude, arrogant, sarcastic, nuts. this year I've got a stats prof who can't teach, or answer questions properly, he makes at least 4 mistakes every class on the board and if I'M catching the mistakes in a math course they're pretty bad! :P
I'd never had much of an interest in geography until I took a course last year and the prof was amazing and I loved the course and I signed up for more geography courses, now I can't get enough physical geography :P
my grade 8 teacher told me (well he told the whole class) "if you do something you love, you'll never work a day in your life" I really like that. There's time though, I could change my mind again with what I want to do.
I've never had him sexed or tried to do it myself, but when I bought him I was told he was a boy (i can't imagine if now he turns out to be a she)

if you turn a passion into a job, eventually you'll come to hate it...
I've heard it both ways.

mhmm, I can understand that
millertime89
11-08-11, 10:25 PM
that seems to come mostly from people in industries that you have to deal with stupid people a lot.

ahah mhmm, I can really understand that. That would become irritating.
