If I breed my male 100% het for albino with a hypo female 66% het ph kahl albino what would I get? What are the odds for albinos and what the heck is a Ph kahl albino anyway? I figured you gets would have a way better idea than Google( especially since I can't find squat on Google. )

dunno about the ph, but a kahl albino is just a reference to the original breeder, it comes from his strand of albino morphs

66% het means there's a 66% chance your snake is het. Either it's het or it's not het. If your snake is indeed het I think you'd get either 1/8 or 1/4 albinos?

I know what the 100% het means, but what does the 66% het mean? How does that work?

if there's less than 100% chance its het, I wouldn't bother. Find another het or a snake that the gene is displayed in.

ph stands for "possible het". So when you breed to hets together, the babies that aren't visuals of the recessive mutation are considered 66% possible het. When you breed two hets together, you get 25% visual morph, 25% normals, and 50% het for the recessive mutation. They call them 66% possible hets because there is no way to tell a normal from a het. So with 25% being normal and 50% being actual hets, there is a 2 in 3 chance that the normal looking animals will be hets. Thus making them 66% hets. So you could buy a possible het and it could be a normal or a het. Its a gamble really.

IMO anyways.

So what if I breed my 100% het with a regular? And if I breed him with an albino I will get albinos, correct?

100% het x albino= albinos
100% het x normal= normals and hets, in other words all possible hets.

100% het x albino= albinos
100% het x normal= normals and hets, in other words all possible hets.

100% het x albino = 1/2 albinos 1/2 normals all normals being 66% PH albino.

100% het x albino = 1/2 albinos 1/2 normals all normals being 66% PH albino.

I knew that but he was asking if he would get albinos so I said that. Little confusing but whatever. :P

Your 66% could just be a normal too and then you would just get het albinos... but years later you could breed the offspring back to the 100% and get albinos...

Mine is 100% het

yes the one but I am talking about the 66% that's just a statistical assumption that isn't proven until bred.

except if you breed a het albino with a normal you won't know if ANY are het.
