Cages. I am looking at getting one at some point. What is a good size for a bp? Are they good cages?

ExoTerra doesn't make cages.

Exo terra makes terrariums that are best for crested geckos and small lizards. They do not make cages large enough to house an adult ball python. Exo terras are taller rather than long, and your ball python needs more floor space rather than climbing space.

All exo terra tanks i have seen have screen tops also which makes keeping humidity up a NIGHTMARE!! :)

I just cut a piece of glass for my top. I actually just got a 77 gallon exoterra for my motley. As soon as the mites I am going to a) glass in the top or b) just wrap the grill with foil. Not as pretty but quite effective!

They're best purchased wholesale at any major expo. The largest one I've seen go for as cheap as $250 and would be suitable for a Ball Python once it had been slightly modified.

For that price I'd say a boaphile would be a better investment for a ball python enclosure, and won't need any modifications

It's all preference. Some people prefer wood, others plastic/acrylic. Myself, I prefer glass - specifically Exo Terra's because their sizes make them suitable for just about any herp. Customizing them with live plants and bioactive substrates is part of the fun.

You might want to compare them with the zoomed ones. I don't like the dual doors and crappy latch on the exo terra ones myself. both makers do offer fairly large enclosures that could house a BP but IMO they are more for animals that would use the height like frogs and vine snakes. We have a couple of the 18x18x18 tanks and want to make frog vivs out of them eventually. I'm going to get a couple pieces of glass cut to cover the tops.
