I finally can get a snake. I am so happy. I have to wait until my new room in the basment is done and that will be at the end of winter. That is a while in Aberta just letting u know. LOL. But I am still extatic. I guess all that hard work finally paid off. For those of you that live in Canada or anywhere else know a breeder in Canada that will ship to Edmonton, Alberta that would be great.

go to an expo, talk to some breeders, and barter with them on snakes a little over 100 bucks, if you tell them its your first they may be willing to knock some off the price. Just make sure you've got the viv set up before you get it!

For sure about the viv. What are some nice morphs that are around 100$ or a little less.

I've seen a mojave for 150 at an expo, so its entirely up to the breeder. I can check BP prices next weekend when I'm at the expo and let you know. Your best bet is to just go and check one out.

I love my normal BP :) Personally, I think a normal belongs in every collection. However, if you only plan on getting one snake your whole life, then definitely choose a morph you like. Heres a few websites of breeders from Toronto, you would have to check each site / contact the breeder to ask if they would ship to Edmonton.

All Reptiles (http://www.allreptiles.ca/index.html)
Also, Im picking up my Cinny Male for $100 from Shane at Legend Boas, great price imo :) He's also willing to ship within Canada so definitely get in contact with him. Also, All Reptiles overcharges a lot for their bp's but they do have a decent selection. You can use these three websites to gauge what the "normal" prices are for each morph. Also Mykee from this forum is a breeder in Toronto, you could msg him and see if he's willing to ship. Congrats tho! U must be stoked!

Pastels are also pretty cheap

I found some awesome pastels and I love how bright they can get. I think I am going to go with a pastel and I am for sure getting a male because they are a little bit smaller.

sheesh, took me long enough to find this thread again, anyways, here's prices at the latest expo I was at. I wrote down anything under 200 because I figured you could probably haggle your way down to a price you can afford.
cinnamon 100
pastel 75
ghost 125
spider 125
mojave 15-175
albinos were 300-350 males and 350-400 females, one breeder had a sell 350 female and 25 for a het albino male, almost went for it, glad I didn't, came home with a 180 dollar speeding ticket instead...

:O Well maybe you had gone for it, you wouldn't have decided to speed on the way home and it would have been extra worth it :P

We get reamed on everything here! The only up side is that when I had to sell my BP I was able to move him quick because she was a great girl and I set the price at 70% of petstore pricing.

also remember, those are expo prices towards the end of the year when some breeders are trying to get rid of what they've got.
I almost bought this girl too, still might. She's a biter, notice my jacket up around my hands.

Well I guess you'll just have to tame her, wont you? The argument about Canada is that if you have to buy bp's at a higher price, arent you also more likely to sell at a higher price? I don't really know the market too well, but thats just my thoughts.
millertime89
11-07-11, 01:40 PM
that would be the logical argument
and yes, I will have to tame her, I just need to figure out a home for her in my new home.

Is the rise in prices in Canada simply due to availability and less breeders?

What is the price for a spider in canada.
