Hey guys, I have a PVC enclosure that I bought from All Reptiles. The vents at the back are just big enough for the radiant heat panel cords, but my herpstat probe won't fit. I have a soldering iron that I just bought to make holes in my tubs. Is it safe / effective to use a soldering iron to make a slightly larger hole near the vent, so that I can fit the herpstat probe in?
I can include pictures if that helps.

use a drill, file the edges.

I used a solder and it actually worked out pretty fine. Im just not gonna put her in the pvc enclosure for a few days until it airs out. I used the soldering iron to "file" off the rough edges and made a perfect circular hole ^^ Now my probe fits fine. :)
Thanks tho kyle, what was the reason you say drill ?

easier, quicker, and as wayne said, fumes.

only thing better than power tools are air tools, and power tools just happen to be more convenient most of the time.

Only thing better than tools is .....More bigger tools!

I like the finished product that the tools help me make personally.
I feel like we need beer and tools threads.
