my female dum stopped eating about 3 weeks ago, she was in shed the 4th week i was going to try to feed her so i didnt bother...i made an appointment with the vet and after she shed i brought her in (this was yesterday)

Vet said she was fine, and in good health.....i feed her every Tues so i was planning on feeding her after the vet....she told me to wait til Wed to feed her just in case all the handling stressed her out....so i tried today....still nothing.....this is driving me crazy. i dunno if there really is something wrong, shes just being stubborn or what the hell it is....i can tell shes hungry....shes barely in her hides anymore....constantly moving around her tank, burrowing, tongue flicking....all the signs that shes hungry....but she will not eat.....

Three weeks is nothing for a snake not to eat, my six month old BP went three momths without eating and is totally fine, just offer food every week until it starts eating, as long as it isnt visibly losing conditioon then dont worry.

Don't stress yet, Check the temps daily to make sure that's not causing the problem.

Keep a close watch for:
Lethargic (sluggish)
Slow response time (Snake doesn't immediately react to fast motions)
Weight loss
Glazed eyes
Pale coloring
Protective layer on Scales chipping & peeling off

yea i've been monitoring the temps, and spraying the tank more often to make sure humidity levels are high

in regards to being sluggish - well thats the thing.....normally shes in her hides all day....rarely coming out to warm up or have some water....but lately shes always out, always moving, scaling the sides of the tank, very active....everything but sluggish

which has me even more puzzled about whats going on with her

your just panicking mate

i have carpets that never miss a feed for years, then go off eating for anything up to 10 weeks for no apparent reason

as long as your snake appears healthy and is not rapidly losing wieght imo you have nothing to worry about

it sounds like your wee guy is in breeding mode

a lot of snakes go off their food during breeding season

i would offer food once every 7 to 10 days

cheers shaun

Sounds like Shaun is right on the money. If eveything is good, just play the waiting game.
