This is the second time in a row that my king snake will not eat. Last time(two weeks ago) I really had to push her to eat but this week she ways no. Now I have a feeling it is the weather it is getting colder outside and warmer in here so that's my theory but I am afraid that she doesn't have enough food to last her. She pooped out all of her food pritty quick and needs food in my opinion but maybe I am just over worried. Should I just leave her for the winter or try and feed her next week. I do not think it is shed because it wasn't to long ago when she last did but surprises happen. Any thoughts?

there are a ton of king owners on here and your set up and temps would be helpful

Post your setup details just in case there is a problem, but as long as the snake is looking healtyhy then not eating isnt a major worry, keep offering food every week and it will take it when it wants it.

The temps are set up to the point were I dont even need to look. I have a cold and hot side and she looks all good. She will regulate between sides even if thats also what you are wondaring. 30 gal long, on aspen, fed outside cage in tub and fresh water every week or if defecated in.

My female corn won't eat unless I put her in a sterilite tub with a towel over it. When she can't see out she knows no one can see in, so she feels safer and more secure. I would suggest trying that.

Idont have kings but thought they needed similar temps to corns? In that the hotside should be mid to high 80's rather than mid 90's? Sure someone will confirm or correct me if wrong......... :)

Rob, you are correct, Kings should be kept with a hotspot between 84-88 degrees. My Grey Banded King has a hotspot of 87 and a cool spot in the low seventies:)

I checked a dozen or so care sheets and all say around mid 70's to low 80s for cool and high 80's to mid 90's and it vary from day to day but a little bit but its fine temp for her and being that I have had her for 2 years the temps wouldn't be a problem now I wouldn't think but I will defiantly keep an eye on temps just in case. Also Youngster thanks for the tip that may be the problem she seems a little agitated when she can see me so maybe that the problem. Thanks allot people, also don't know if it makes much of a difference but its a Cal King don't know if I said that lol.
