some great news for you all

hi all, just thought id say this:

this morning at 00:21 i became a first time father, my partner had an emergency c-section and a beautiful baby boy was born, he is 4 weeks early and he weighed 3lb, 12oz and is currently in an incubator in a special baby unit/ward at my local hospital.

he is doing well, he started breathing on his own as soon as his lungs were cleared and as such no breathing apparatus has been used, he is also getting stronger each hour. he hasnt opened his eyes just yet but has tried several times.

please note and please do not take offence by this any of you, but i wont be posting pics up as u never know who will be able to see them and i dont really wanna think about certain consequences.

i just thought that you would all like to know whats been going on :)

an update for you all, jack has gone from 6ml of feed a day to 11ml now and he is progressing at an extremely fast rate, weighing is being done tonight so hopefully hes puyt on weight, but will just have to see :)

What a wonderful pick me up! Love the name you chose! I remember when my boy was little, now he is twice my size and towers over me. Enjoy this and take lots of pictures.

another update, hes gone up by 100g in weight in 4 days and he is now on 22ml every 2 hrs and even tried the bottle earlier and started to suckle but fell asleep shortly after.

He is also off the monitors now but still in the incubator, however, the carers thas looking after him has said that hes making the fastest progress they have ever seen, so i am such a proud dad right now and he may even be home sooner than anyone could have antincipated :)

he was never on oxygen, he was breathing on his own from the moment he came out, oh and yh the mums doing great btw
