I was at the New England Reptile Expo just now and I got these beauties. A 1.1 pair of corn snakes. The female is an Ultramel het motley, the male is an Ultramel Motley het caramel. Pretty good pair if you ask me, good variety of morphs. 6 different kinds of babies possible with this pair. BTW where's a good place to get a bulb guard for a CHE? I couldn't find one anywhere.

Congrats! nice looking couple for sure.
To answer your question about the CHE; I use either the wire clamp fixtures or glow fixtures from hagen. Should be able to pick them up at any petstore; or ask them to be ordered it. Whatever you use just make sure it's safe for a che.

Awwww :( That's too bad, it was really fun. There was some crazy animals. Have you heard of Mojo Herps and/or Hot Jupiter Reptiles? I got the female from Mojo and the male at HJ. They were both really nice.

Not trouble, I just don't want to stress her out. And they ate yesterday so I usually wait a couple days.

I say that a "new addition" is not a new addition until it's eating.
Congrats!

Figured I would post this. Quick photoshop equals this! Also just finding out what photobucket is like. Much easier than uploading 1 by 1.

Here's a nice strike by my male on Monday. It startled me I wan't expecting him to be that aggressive of an eater!

Yup :) She was inspecting the glass door so I opened it and she came out onto my hands on her own :D We played for a little bit then I put her back. I got some nice close ups pics of her face. She seemed really comfortable so I'm glad as can be!

It's nice to see photos of my babies once they have left me. I think you did capture her colors well. I am so surprised she was feisty at first. She was always docile with me!
If I remember correctly she is poss het anery.
I will be at a show in Portland ME this weekend. I still have her Dad for sale as well as some half sibs.

She wasn't really feisty, more defensive. :) She's calmed down a lot since then. I think it was just the stress and shock of the whole ordeal.
I don't think I'll be at the Portland show.

I took a lot of pictures today, hopefully you like them Jo!
PS in the first picture you can see a scrape on her back, I've been putting neosporin on it but it's not healing very fast.
Anyone have any remedies or anything? Probably won't go away for a couple of sheds but it's worth a shot :p
PPS wow! Tomorrow I'll have had her for two months!

*** Just reread this and it sounded funny - i mean that your posts are very well thought out and mature - much more grown up sounding than a 13 yr old!!! :) :)

No :(
I knew he was inside somewhere in the first few days but now I don't have a clue. He's bright orange too so he's gonna be easier to spot for predators.

Great photos! She looks wonderful.
I am not convinced the white areas are a scrape, but I can not tell for sure. Some snakes, her father in fact, have a reaction to some plastics and it causes the to lose pigment. So she may just be reacting to plastic if she has a plastic water bowl. You can try a different plastic or get a ceramic water bowl. This is not dangerous to her but some people do not feel it is aesthetically pleasing.

Oh, well that explains the white patches. But there is actually a scrape where there is no scales. I'm not too worried though, I'm sure it'll clear up in a couple sheds.
Thanks though, I was a little worried about those white spots :p
BTW did she have a name in your care? I haven't found a name that I like and that sticks.

I looked at those photos and saw the scrape. It is nice and clean so it should heal up fine. How did she get it? You do want to make sure that it was not something in her viv so she doesn't do it again.
I never named her even though I was thinking that I would keep her. I had not gotten around to naming her as I was a little overwhelmed at the time.

I never figured out how she got it but I'm thinking it was the vents in the enclosure she was in. We made a custom enclosure but there was many flaws in it so she's out of it while we modify it to work well. She's in a tub now with nothing to rub up against. Made sure of it :)
