I have 2 ball pythons. I currently house my adult ball python in a 40gal enclose which he loves. When my baby ball grows up, I want him to have the same amount of floor space. I don't want to have 2 big cages though side-by-side, since that would use up a lot of space. Also my big ball doesn't use the height of his cage; he just stays in his hides or hangs out ontop of his logs. I want to get a custom cage built that can have one cage stacked ontop of another. I've seen a few websites (monster cages, cagesbydesign, etc) online, but I was wondering if anyone on here had experience with a particular builder/website/whatever and could give some recommendations.
Building the cage from scratch is not an option for me. No one in my family (myself included) is good working with wood and building tools and whatnot. I'd also prefer to have it made by someone with experience building specifically for reptiles, since they'd each need a heat mat, etc. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.
I don't want a rack system or anything like that. I only have 2 ball pythons and don't plan to get any more snakes for quite some time. I want the wood & glass kind of set ups that I've seen. Any ideas anyone??

I did this using Google Sketchup... Obviously it's a rough drawing, and my BPs love belly heat and I'd want that installed, but I have NO CLUE how to build ANYTHING. If you know where/who to go to get something like this built, please let me know. This is what I had in mind:

Dimensions to fit an adult BP each.

Hey Alessia, i am currently getting in the mode to build (3) 4ftx2ftx2ft tanks, and (6) 3ftx2ftx1.5ft...
i am building all mine out of melamine, and to heat them, i will be more than likely using Ceramic Heat Emitters, attached to a thermostat, but you could use belly heat by using flexwat with a peice of plexi glass over it...
look for "gungirls'' - building another one thread... she just built a few VERY nice enclosrues! hope i can help in any way, as to ill be doing alot of this in the future.

Are you offering to build mine? :D It would need to be shipped to FL... and there's no hurry. If you can make something like what I drew, inbox me to talk details

I would totally make one for you because I'm actually making two 40 breeders right now, but I have to get them done before Oct. 9 and I'm wicked busy :P Plus shipping would be a hassle cause they're super heavy.

the best way to ship is to ship disassembled via greyhound, its how I do large car parts.

Yes but she said she can't really build anything. And it would be too confusing for me to make an easily assembled thing :P But either way I won't have time to do it for awhile.

To clear up...
I don't need this cage until March. Yup, that's a long time from now. I just don't know how long these things take to build, etc. and didn't want to leave it for last minute. :)

I saw one just like that, really nice wood.. Really nice cage.
Good price too. Only $200,000.
Uh huh.

I really think that as far as getting a custom viv built just the way you want it with wood, your best bet is to find a local handy man/wood worker and see what they can do for you. It will save on shipping and they can bring it to you fully assembled and ready to go.

I've put out a local listing on cragislist to see if anyone down there wants to do the job. Thanks everyone! :)
