FINALLY got my retics!!

Just picked up my 1.1 pair of 2010 Platinum Het Albino Reticulated pythons, stunnig pair, only problem is the owner "maintenence" fed them, so they are both rediculously small, very active and healthy though and will be growing like weeds shortly.
They are for the first of many breeding projects, bred together will make
6.25% normals
12.25% normals het albino
6.25% albinos (white/lavender/purple)
12.5% Platinum(fires)
25% Platinum (fire) het albino
6.25% Ivory/Ultra Ivory/Black eyed Leucistic
12.5% Ivory/ Ultra Ivory/Black eyed Leucistic het albino
6.25% Ivory/ Ultra Ivory/ Black eyed Leucistic albino (white/lavender/purple)
12.5% Platinum albino (white/lavender/purple)

supposedly they are kate 2010s, and they came with papers, but I've never heard of a 4 foot mainland at that age.
Generally I used to breed em at 3 years but it depends more on weight/size then anything else.
I've never bred a male before 15 months without getting lots of slugs, and I refuse to breed females that are sub 12 feet and healthy because of the risk to them. Even males need a little extra weight because they tend to loose allot during breeding

those 2 are 1 year old? thats really small, i would think they would be 2x bigger, i bet they are really going to take off in length, in a short amount of time.

The guy was feeding them a fuzzy rat ever 2-3 weeks...
I'll expect about a foot in length a month for the next year from the female, and about 6-8 inches a month from the male.

Hell, my 3 yr old corn eats bigger prey than that!! and more often!! Good thing they ended up with someone who knows what they are doing, and will be properly taken care of now!!

The male won't get much bigger then 12-14 feet, the female should cap off at about 18-19 unless she has giant genetics... The reason they are tiny now is because they were severely underfed
You can get super dwarf platinums though, same snake visually but they get MUCH smaller.

The female bit herself feeding, ripped off 3 scales from her neck, she kinda shrugged it off and continued to eat, and ate the other rat sitting on the plate... That feeding response is scary lol, she hit the rat that was on the plate and pushed it about 4 inches and slammed into the terrarium wall lol.

the sheer power and capabilitys of a snake that size is incredable...!!

to have one slithering around your house would be a sight to behold,just their sheer size and massive heads

i can't wait to see these two after a few feeds mate

kimberlys ( willow) pictures of her lying next her burmanator always amaze me ( sheer size of her burm )

i would love to own retic's with such potential,but with 4 young grandkids i wouldn't risk it
