I've been looking at some of the boas on the boaphile website and I was wondering what exactly Double Het Pastel Sunglow means and if you were to breed two of the DH Pastel Sunglow boas together what exactly would you produce? I'm not looking to breed in the near future but more so of a long term project. I've just been thinking about getting a pair of young Boas (not decided on what type yet) at the expo I'm going to and raising them and breeding them in a few years when I have more experience and more research/hands on experience. I'm currently also looking for a local breeder I can help out with and learn the ropes that way too.

They are het for both pastel and sunglow.
2X that bred together = pastels sunglows pastel sunglows and possible het everything, including possible het normals.

pastel is not a recessive trait in boas, its line bred.
A double het sunglow is a hypo het albino, double het because although its visual hypo its only heterozygous because hypo is a dominant trait.
A double het pastel sunglow is a pastel hypo that is het albino.
If you bred 2 together you would get
12.5% Sunglows
12.5% albinos
37.5% Hypos (66% double het sunglow)
37.5% Normals (66% het albino)
As pastel is line bred, the amount of pastel influence in the above is going to vary with some being more pastel than others.

Thanks! That cleared a lot of it up for me. How exactly did you come up with the percentages? Also as far as line breeding is it okay to breed two babies together if I got a male and female sunglow?
